Have you tried henna? It's a natural product. Maybe you won't have a reaction to that.

Have you tried Clairol - Loving Care? There is no amonia or peroxide. It's a rinse and it lasts about 2 weeks. Of course if you continue using it, the build-up of color (not gunk so it's not gross) will allow you to color it about once a month. I've used it a few times before when I first wanted to color my hair and I noticed after using it a few times (along with letting it sit in longer) the color would last longer. This is only if you're covering grays or want to go darker. You can't go lighter with it since there are no chemicals to strip your hair of it's color.

You could also try Loreal - Color Pulse. It's the same thing...no chemicals and lasts 6-8 shampoos. Again...you can only go darker or add some color to it...it has more vibrant colors than Loving Care.

You can always use natural alternatives. Henna is a great one, if you want red hair. There are also many ways to "doctor" it so that you get different colors. For example, using henna and then following it with indigo will make your hair black.

It is very rare to have an allergy to natural dyes like these.

Check out http://www.hennaforhair.com for lots more info, many "recipes" for dyes, including pictures from other users.

Good luck!

You can go to one of those beauty supply stores and ask about alternatives, a lot of the time they have salons associated with them and they will know if there is an alternative dye or a natural way to adjust your color.

I suggest that you stop dyeing your hair. Choose a color grey, if your hair is turning into that color. Do not change nature. Follow it.

Why do you "need" to color your hair? Just go with what you've got, and be proud of it!
