Call the vet again and let him know that it's still going on, if "awhile" is longer than a few days with no improvement. The vet can't diagnose your pet if you don't let them know that something is wrong, so call. If the vet still doesn't seem concerned, find a new vet and express that you are really concerned.

Yes, I have had it happen with my dogs but it is rare now since i moved into an apartment. I had a large yard before and they would sometime grab something to eat that they shouldn't like part of a dead squirrel or some other nasty delicacy. Some dogs like to try and pick up frogs, eat acorns, all kinds of stuff.
When I had the yard they would do this from time to time. Now it is very rare.
Note how often it happens, when it happens and keep in touch with your Vet in case it continues and you notice something it seems to be connected with, or it worsens.
Sometimes people in the neighborhood where i lived poisoned squirrels and i don't doubt my dogs got a bit of that from eating a squirrel that died and dropped into the yard. Not to mention other odds and ends a dog can pick up in a large yard.
You are consulting with your Vet already so I would think he knows your dog's basic health. IF you have doubts about that, talk to your Vet about it because he may run some tests.

My dog has always done this. It's usually early in the morning. And it is only occassionally. The yellow foamy liquid is just stomach bile. I asked the vet and he said that he probably has a sensitive stomach. There could be all kinds of reasons and he could run hundreds of dollars in tests, and then just tell me to change his diet to a "sensitive stomach" formula premium dog food and don't feed him table scraps. I elected to skip the tests for now, and do the latter. I do still feed him table scraps though, and usually he throws up the next morning.

I had this same problem with my doggies. I keep them in the bathroom all day when I'm gone. They do not want to urinate in their space, so they lick themselves. This can cause a yellow substance being thrown up.
If the vet doesn't seemed concerned, then I wouldn't worry or get a 2nd opion.

Sounds a lot to me like your animals are getting food items that are not well received by their digestive systems.
The yellow substance is bile or so I would think. Many dogs have
systems that will not abide certain foods.Avoid greasy table scraps, gravies,And never feed a dog turkey.

I would take them to the vet again and ask him what it is. Bring a sample in a tupperware container if need be. If he still isnt helpful, go to a different vet for a second opinion.

Have you changed their food?
Fed them table scrapes?
Has your vet run some blood work on them?
If this problem is has been going on for a while I would take them to the vet and have some blood work run. Checking liver, CBC, kidneys, BUN, ect.. . .
Call your vet back and make an appointment to being them in.
