I have 2 blue heelers..1 male 1 female...my female is REALLY protective over me when it comes to my male trying to get in my lap and it usually causes a fight...I've tried the "showin them love at the same time to show em i care about both of them" but that doesnt work...If my male even moves towards me she has to block his path....My dogs are really well trained but when it comes to this no comands work...WHAT CAN I DO??

Actually his bowl hits the ground first... If she was to get fed first he would stick his nose in it...so i feed him first and she stays back long enough for me to put her bowl down

It's not jealpusy, she's showing she's the dominant dog. It's usually best, unless the dogs are getting really aggressive, to let them work their issues out themselves. The female is the dominant dog (they usually are) so you'll mess them up if you try to change it. You need to greet, pet, feed, etc. her first. Let her come to you for a cuddle, then tell her that's all and move to him. If she interferes, firmly tell her no. Put her in a sit stay if you need to. I think if you're consistent in her being first, she'll get the idea that you know she's ahead of your male in the pecking order (but she has to know that you are ahead of both).

Sounds more like a "I'm the boss" issue than sibling jealousy....when you feed them who gets their bowl first? (even if you think you feed them at the same time...who's bowl touches the ground first....if you give them dog treats who do you give it to first) Giving food to and petting the female reenforces that she is top dog....however giving to the male first may cause jealousy and the female may feel the need to reassert her superiority (my dog used to attack my other dog my biting his neck.)

Need more information. . . .
Are your dogs spayed and neutered?
How old are they?
Have you had them since they were puppies?

Have you talked to your Vet about this problem (maybe they can help or a trainer in the area)
