Girl wonder, welcome to Earth, you must from out of space.
Dec 25th Is Christmas. Whether you believe it is or it is not. It will not change what it represent. Christmas.
Merry Christmas Girl wonder, and welcome to Earth again.
ha ha, keep working on your humor, it still need some work. ha ha.
ADD:
Yes, my dear. I know. My point is live and let live, but it seems that some people have to have it their way, even if it is to take Christ out of Christmas, and start to call it with name such as winter festival, winter of light, or whatever. It has been Christmas for so long, no one is making you to celebrate it.
It is funny that people argue over a joyful happy celebration. with all the trouble that we have today in the world, I would think this should be a welcoming change to a better things. Happy, Merry, Joyful, better than all that we see in the news with so much suffering and pain all around us.
Merry Christmass, Merry Everyday. Just Merry to You ALL.

The winter soslstice of course.
This is what has been celebrated for thousands of year at that date. The date was picked up during the 4th century AD when the pagan roman emperor Constantin teamed up with the christian sects to set up a system to impose a so called religion on the people in order to dominate them for good.

I see all...Christ was not born on December 25th just as you suggest, but it really doesn't matter. It's a time to take a vacation and have time with your family. Unless you work retail, you will get you're break the day after, just before the after holiday sale.

I celebrate that day because my wife and family are Christian and celebrate that day as Christmas. As I'm Pagan and it falls reasonably close to Yule, I just celebrate along with them. We enjoy the spirit of the season, even if we feel differently about what it means.
EDIT: In response to Daddy's Girl's long-winded post (which I admit I stopped reading after about the third paragraph), all I can say is, "Thank God I'm pagan!"

I participate in Christmas events on December 25th out of respect for my husband because he is a Christian. In turn, he celebrates Yule with me, my family and friends on December 21st because I'm a Wiccan. I'm very proud of my husband for his support, tolerance, love and understanding that I find sadly lacking in others of his religion.

You know, I try to make the whole season one celebration after another.
I don't mind celebrating Jesus birthday on December 25, or commemorating it, since it wasn't the actual date.
I don't believe he was the messiah and I don't believe he rose from the dead, but what's wrong with honoring a man who spoke of peace and love? I don't have to be black to honor Dr. King, do I?
I'll also light my Yule candles and welcome the rebirth of the Sun God.
It's all good.
