My grandmother met and married my grandfather while he was stationed in italy during the war. Her maiden name was Giaquinto.(not sure of the spelling) She was about 18 when she returned with my grandfather to America. She lived with her mother and 3 sisters. Her father lived in New York for a short time and worked as a police officer and died afer returning to Italy. One of my fathers cousins called shortly after my grandmother died to inquire about her well being. My father never thought to get any contact information from him before disconnecting the call. My only information about him is that he called himself Cousin Charlie. I would very much appreciate any information about my grandmothers family.

Hey Cari,

Use your mothers (or fathers) birth certificate to get your Grandmothers full name. It should list her birth date as well, or at least her age when your parent was born.

Then apply for a Birth record for your Grandmother. Some sites specific to Italian Vital Records are below. Read about how to do this.

Another piece of information you can get is when did she come over to this country. Her immigration records are great information. You can get that too. This might be a bad assumption, but I guess she came through Ellis Island, and you can check for free! See the site below, you have to register, but it is FREE.

PS - I found 344 Giaquinto entries at the Ellis Island site, many from Caserta. I also added the White Pages for Italy.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOgvJ

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.
