how can i stop my dog from barking when ever someone enters the room he is five years old now i havnt got much money as i am only 5 mso can i train him 2 stop barking by not hitting him

Now all we have to do is pick up something that even looks like it, like a phone or the tv remote and act like we're going to push it and he stops barking. We also tell him it's ok, calm him down because he seemed to be very alarmed by people coming in. If you know someone's coming, go to him and gently hold him and tell him it's ok that this person is coming. This has helped with everyone except the mailman.

yes, my mom actuall has a geman shepherd and he is always barking at everything, she uses a spary bottle with water, and just gives him a squirt or two and tells him to go lay down i know this wont work for all but it works great for him. its worth a try good luck.
