Get about one cup of warm water and add approximately 1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt. The mixture should taste similar to tears.

As someone with 26 piercings, I have had to do some weird things in order to soak piercings. My suggesion for the upper ear is get a shallow cup or bowl and lay your head in it. It'll be awkward, but it will work.

I am in exactly the same situation! Just got my daith done the other day and was told to soak it in salted water - "how am I supposed to do that?" I wondered. Well I just get a glass of hot water (but not too hot to burn the skin) and dissolve about half a teaspoon of salt in it. Fill the glass quite full then basically you just have to set it on the table and put you're ear in it. You're head will need to be in a horizontal position, it can be slightly uncomfortable but it does work! Also have a towel to hand because it can make a mess... Good luck!

look at he link anti you gave you i would give you it but she beat me to it. anyways. i had the same problem. what i did was i went tot he store and bougth LARGE cottonball.s after i prepared and warmed the soultion i dipped in 2 large cotton balls (one for the fron of the piercing and one for the back) and placed it on my ears (without squeezing out the cotton balls before hands) trust me you will get wet! . so keep some towels near by =) this helpsed me alot for my 2 carilage piercins i got at the same time 2 months ago =)

but yes sa salt soaks work wonders with the soreness and promotes healing!

good luck!

my firned got her cartilage pierced when i got my navel pierced in june. she would lay on the floor with her ear in a cup, she walked around quite alot with a ring from the cup around her head lolol. so i have always used cotton balls though =)

If you don't want to try and become an acrobat go to a piercing shop or online and pick up some H2Ocean... its a sea salt spray that works great, I use it on all my piercings!

i like to use a coffee mug (clean, of course). it sounds strange, but it seems to be the easiest way. just mix your sea salt solution and lean your ear into the mug.
