why are lots of people scared to let people know

You should not be ashamed of your gospel. But other people are really tired of having it pushed on them repeatedly and those people will respond negatively. That would cause those preaching your gospel to recoil.

Really, I think that a lot of Christians are incapable of stating what the Gospel is!
Either they don't know it, or really do not believe it. I am hoping that the Spirit of God will lead them to that simple message of grace and peace to any who are called by Him.

Because those of the world HATE the truth of the Gospel, and all who follow it. This can cause fear of persecution in some, which will lead to acts of shame.

I don't think they're scared. I think they're smart enough to realize that nearly everyone has heard the gospel, and respectful enough to let us believe what we want to believe, knowing that we've heard the gospel.

Nobody likes to be rejected and if you've been around this site long enough you know that sharing the gospel can lead to hatred spews and name calling...peace :-)

They have not had a revelation of who they are in Jesus, and are afraid that people will make fun of them and they will not be part of the "in crowd"

Because not everyone wants to hear Christian drivel. Believe whatever you want, just don't try pushing it down other people's throats like many Christians do.
