The babies in Egypt never had a chance to know god and make a decision before god slaughtered them. Okay, god knew that every single one of them would choose wrongly. But what about babies today who never get a chance to know Jesus before they die? Does god know whether each and every one would have gotten right with jesus? Of course he does. So doesn't that mean that some of these stillbirths and miscarriages are going to hell?

sheepinarowboat, that's exactly what I'm asking about. If they aren't accountable, why did god slaughter so many thousands of them? Or millions even.

Ex 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

Haven't you read Psalms 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

OR

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world

OR

Romans 9:21 - 23 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory

Clearly the bible God creates certain souls for heaven and certain souls for hell. He never intened to give humanity freewill and we clearly do not have it since this God deturmines who is going to heaven or hell before you are ever born!

YOU NEVER HAD A CHOICE!

Most Christians believe life is a gift form God, thus all life comes from God, including babies. That is to say, we all started out already knowing God at conception, but weather we articulate that emotionally or mentally when we grow up is another issue altogether.

Children who die before they knowingly choose to be with God or not end up in a place very much like heaven. But according to the Bible, this place is not heaven itself. They, in a sense, are not judged by God and thus can not be good or evil.

Babies like people are a mixture of different wants and desires. People aren’t simply good or evil, although they can do really bad things at times; for the most part we do what we need to do to get by. We do the best we can at any given time and place. Babies are driven by the impulse to survive, like all living things, we want to survive. Regardless, the desire to exist is not a sin.

And, that, my friend, is precisely why I believe in reincarnation with the goal of the Nirvana of nothingness, not Christianity. I don't need a punitive God breathing down my back.

If we're going to question that, then what about every human before Christ was born, or every human who never even knew Christ existed. That's a LOT of people who could have lived very holy lives based on the gospels of men who lived at least 200 years after Jesus died (do some research on the Gospels -- not ONE was an actual apostle of the Christ).

The way I see it, if the Loving Christian God was willing to arbitrarily punish all of humankind before . . . say, 1600 years ago? I cannot believe in its benevolence. Since I am unwilling to follow a deity who is not benevolent (or at least is neutral) because in my mind it makes that deity evil, then I cannot be a Christian. Add to that the outrageous behavior of many church leaders and the waste of monies to make these horrifying houses of worship with their giant lower-case T idolatry, while children starve just across town (against Jesus's own teachings, people!) . . .

. . . . yes. These miscarriages and stillbirths (if they even were imparted a soul by the Divinity), and innocents (who would have had souls) slaughtered by God before they were given "The Word" are in Hell. All of them. Why? Because they never were able to believe in Jesus Christ (as John 3:16 tells us) because they never even knew Christ existed.

I am amazed that you have the time to think of such ridiculous things. God told Ramses if he did not allow the people of Israel to leave Egypt the first born would die. God did not kill anyone. The angels came and those with out the blood of the lamb marking their dwellings lost the first born. They were not all babies, by the way. First born meant first born. Had Ramses listened to Moses and did as God bid him. No deaths would have occurred. Babies that die before birth are not judged of this world, and have committed no seen. They are pure and innocent.

When you say "does God know whether each and every one would have gotten right with Jesus before they die?"... It isn't like God would play out entirely what would have happened to the baby in its lifetime and whether or not it was deserving to go to heaven.. It was obviously "God's plan" for the baby to pass away at such a time. But really, who knows whether babies are good or evil. And besides, why must they be just one of them? Perhaps each of us have a percentage of good and evil within ourselves.. Depending how we manage this could decide our fate in heaven or hell.

All babies are born into sin but are without sin because they have not yet known the difference between good & evil or right & wrong as we do at this point.
That's why the Master Jesus said suffer little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven.
The same is true of mentally handicapped souls because they are unaware of right and wrong.
God Bless

No. God is equal opportunity. Everyone gets a chance to hear the Gospel and either accept or reject it. That was the plan from the pre-existence. Those who die before the age of accountability do not go to hell becuse they've died with out sin (no punishment for Adam's transgression - none of this original sin stuff) and that kind of judgement won't be made until after the millenium anyway. We, as individuals, are soley responsible for our own actions - we start life with a clean slate.

Death is a consequence of sin. We are born with a sin nature....however, babies have yet to reach the age of accountability....they are not under the law and therefore cannot break the law. If a baby steals, no one would put them in jail...they are not morally condemnable. Therefore, the babies that are killed or die or are aborted, go directly to the arms of a loving God.

I think that we should use basic common sense about babies and the question of evil. If you've ever given birth to one, you KNOW that they are not, but they are malleble and will evolve into a being that is, at all times, shades of gray (even the ones that turn out "evil", by whatever your definition of that is.)

It sounds to me like you have taken the process of judgment away from God and given it to yourself. You are also assuming that God thinks that evil is punishable by death, which means that we are all in that category.

Whatever you do, if you are ever around anyone who has lost a baby or young child, keep your mouth shut about this going to hell thing. It's cruel and serves no purpose other than to sit in judgment and hurt others.

evil.

no seriously.

you can blame the christians for this one, they thought of it.

Original Sin combined with the claim that "No Sin Shall Enter The Kingdown of Heaven" basically tells us that if a baby is born (with original sin) and they die soon after, they immediately go to the only place where people with sin go. Hell.

now some or most christians say that they go to purgatory....but how is that any better? youve basically got an infinite field of white thats full of babies with no one to care for them. so for all of eternity theyre going to remain there -on the white, void floor- crying.

the whole "age of accountability" isnt in the bible anywhere. its basically made up so people feel better, so they can sleep at night knowingthat their god doesent send little babies to (a type of) hell.
isnt Christian Logic fun!
