You can open an unverified account with paypal. For thid no credit card information is needed... PayPal is one of the most popular online money transfer systems widely used for online auctions, pay to surf programs, e-books and purchase of low value goods. It is now a part of the online auction website eBay. More details available at

PayPal doesn't allow prepaid cards to be used as funding sources. Breaking the rules of a payment system while making a payment doesn't sound like a good idea to me. If you have some kind of dispute with the seller, PayPal can just declare you in violation of their user terms and close your account. They won't do anything to help someone openly violating their rules.

To verify you only need to go to the bank and ask them what the small deposits were from PayPal. They will be two deposits of like 25 cents and 30 cents, or other similar amounts. You do not need a credit card.

you are NEVER to buy things using your debit card on the internet. when you make purchases with your debit card you have less protection as you would if you were to purchase it would a credit card. when you buy something with your debit card, the money comes out directly from your bank and lets say down the line, you buy something and not happy with it and want a return and what not, it could turn out to be more annoying to get your money back cuz its a debit card...unlike a credit card where you can just tell your card company to hold the payment.

there are tons of articles on the dangers of making online purchases with a debit card. buyer beware!

In the U.S.
Yes, if your debit card has the Visa or MasterCard symbol.

Also in the U.S.
You are also protected Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA) and by Visa and MasterCard zero liability policy

Other Countries
Maestro may work but zero and liability protection vary

I believe you can verify using your bank account. You verify each account separately. Why don't you specify you want the paypal account to be vefified with your bank account? I believe they also have live cusomer sevice you can talk to (at least theyused to).
