What's all this nonsense about spontaneous salvation? It's really starting to freak me out. Spontaneous combustion I can understand, but this other idea is just spooky, and how did they come up with it?
It also goes by the label Saved to Glory, or something like that. Also I believe some call it the Rupture.
Also, are these two groups really in cahoots?

I've no idea what you are referring to. I've been a Scientologist for over 34 years and I've never heard of this concept.
There is no such thing as "spontaneous salvation" , Rapture, or Saved by Glory in my religion.
Maybe you are confusing Scientology with the Christian Science religion. This sounds like a Christian concept to me.
Can't speak for the Baptists , never studied Christian based religions particularly. Obviously there is also no "cahoots" involved either.
Please calm down, whatever your source is for this "freak out" the information is false.

The belief is that God will come at the end times and raise his Church from the earth and grave. There are passages in the bible such as 1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not preceed them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord., or that He will come in a "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:52).
This event is called the rapture. The popularization of the term is associated with teaching of John Nelson Darby in the nineteenth century. Now, even though many/most Christians believe in a rapture of some sorts, the modern idea of the rapture, such as seen the the Left Behind series, does not represent many of the Catholic, Orthodox, and other Christian churches stances prior to the 1800's. Now, with the constant branching of Protestantism, this interpretation is gaining popularity and acceptance in many of those Churches. The important thing to remember though, is that the early Church did tell of Christ's return, but did not teach of it how it is being taught today.
I do have to say that i dont know much about the Scientologists, but can say that they are most definetly not in cahoots with the Baptists. (they wouldnt be able to stand eachother)

it's called the rapture, all Christian religions believe in it. I don't think Scientologists do though. The idea is that when God judges the world, all of the 'saved' people will instantaneously go to heaven so they don't have to go through all of the horrors predicted in revelations. If you're not included, then you get a chance to be judged later, after the war between Heaven and Hell. Try a book called "Left Behind" for a look at what it could be like.
