I have 2, I got one at 21 and the 2nd at 35. Yes, they hurt, but if you want one bad enough then you just deal with it. My pain was about a 5. Certainly not as bad as when I broke my arm when I was a kid. Not anywhere near as bad as childbirth either.

Each person has a different tolerance for pain so what might be a 7 for one person might be a 2 for another. It also depends on where you get it to and the size and amount of different colors you get into it.
I have 5 tattoos and have had 2 touched up and 1 of them twice.
I would rate mine at a 1 but I also have a high tolerence for pain. It feels more like an uncomfortable eraser burn if you ever got one of those. It was more annoying than painful for me.
I always say start small and if you can handle it add to it that way if its to painful for you, you only have a small tattoo to try to sit through.

I have 4 tattoos and I'm working on a large piece that extends up my leg and onto my back and sides.
All tattoos hurt, but the extent of pain depends on location of the tattoo and your personal response to pain. On a scale of 1-10 I think tattoos are an overall 3 with parts and certain locations being a 6 or 7. Everyone is very different though, I speak only for myself. I'm sure if you relax you'll be fiiiine.

Yes, only one but its pretty big. It's on my back and goes down to my tailbone. I'd say it's about 6in or so high and is of a smoking lotus... you can see a pic of it on my 360 page :)
As far as the pain it depends on the spot and how long it'll take for tha tattoo to get done. Mine took about 4hours; after the first 30min I barley felt it and the last 30min I felt it the most because it's just constant pressure on you for so long. When he got to my tailbone it hurt and when he made the tips of the petals but the color in was fine.
All in all I'd say the pain was about a 4 maybe even 3.5 ...

It depends on where you get the tattoo. I have one on my hip that didn't hurt too bad except for the parts where he had to drag the needle over my hip bone and that kinda hurt. If you really want one, the pain isn't bad enough for you to change your mind. I would say it's about a 4, only because it's a constant discomfort, not really pain.

it all depends on where you get the tattoo and your personal pain tolerance. i would rate the pain between a 4 and 6. but not a constant. sometimes it hurts less. i always read a book to take my mind off of the pain and to pass the time.

I have 2.. one on my right shoulder, the other on my lower back. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but the one on my lower back had me sweating and panting.. trying my best not to pass out. On a scale from 1-10.. the one on my shoulder was a 3, the one on my lower back was a 12!!!
