I read a story in the newspaper today that made me feel sadness and anger: a 14 years old girl was raped by her father, who had been done that for 3 years, and now the girl is pregnant. The girl's mom didnt know what her husband did when he got drunk (that's what she said) and the man had told the girl that if she said something about the issue, he would kill them all and kill himself, and that's why this horrible tragedy hapened for 3 years to the poor girl.
My cuestion is: now that this girl is pregnant with his son/brother...do you think she should have the baby? I am catholic and I have always been against abortion but this made me doubt, I mean, this poor girl lost her childhood, her happiness, everything, and this baby will only be the conection with all those horrible memories... dont you think?
All opinions are acepted, I just want to know what do religious people say, and what would catholic chruch say.

I was reading your answers and yes, adoptions seems to be the best option, and Im glad to know that there are people like most of you, who care about other people and will pray for this girl...Ah, and English is not my native language and I dont live in USA, so forgive me for my spelling mistakes.

Here's a question... would the baby be both the daughters child and sibling?

Obviously it should be put down, not only for the reasons you stated, but because it will probably be genetically compromised as well.

The guy should be accidentally thrown into a wood chipper. What's more shocking than this story is that according to Christianity, the guy can repent, and go to heaven.

Odd religion you've got there.

What a terrible, painful situation. I side with Pinkadot on this question due to being LDS. Because the father not only violated the law of chastity but also abused his own daughter, the laws of timing and family organization have been grossly disrupted. In this case, because of incest, the daughter is justified in having an abortion - in my opinion it would have to be in the first trimester but I would like to bet that if you have read this in the news, it may be later than that already. It's up to the girl, the doctor, and any counselor she has. Yes, adoption would be a possibility. That would end up being a blessing for some family somewhere.

Of course in the natural all of us would want to say abort. The girl has suffered enough. But in the supernatural with the understanding of God....we see things different. A horrible crime has been done to this girl and by the hands of her father. The baby being so closely related has the chance of several genetic problems. We don't rid our problems by taking a life. Aborting the baby will not heal her of her wounds and will not undo her fathers evilness. I know for a fact there are many families that would adopt this child.

This is a horrible tragedy, and that man should spend the rest of his life in prison. However, none of what happened is that baby's fault. if the girl in question does not believe she is capable of taking care of the baby or loving the child, then she should give the child up for adoption. There are plenty of good people out there who would love a chance to love and raise that baby.

Many fake doctrines that men and women are deceived approximately. For one, burning in hell. In the Bible hell is the grave. Any point out of fireside has to do with whole destruction. Romans 6:23 says that the wages sin will pay is "demise". Once a man or woman dies they're acquitted in their sins. There can be a resurrection of well & dangerous, nevertheless, for the ones that don't wish to continue to exist earth and comply with the instructions of Christ's kingdom, they'll now not be there. Plain & useful. Mt. 6:10, Dan. two:forty four

I certainly hope that father is rotting in jail for stealing the innocence of his little girl! This is truly tragic, and a terrible situation. I just can't help but think that the psychological trauma of an abortion would be so much worse than putting the child up for adoption. It's a horrible thing for the girl to have to go through. I pray she receives all the special medical care and trauma counselling she needs.

I am LDS and normally we do not believe in abortion, only in circumstances such as rape, incest, or risk of death to the mother or child...since this is a case of rape/incest, it could I think be considered...although her bishop would still encourage her to pray about it and ask Heavenly Father what she should do. Adoption is also an option...I do not know what I would do if I were in that situation...would there not be birth defects because of the incest?? That is very very sad. It is slightly comforting to know that he will be held accountable for his actions...

That is so hard to answer....I know myself I could never end life at all,,I would have to know how I feel and know it was not the childs fault nor was it this little girl who suffered for what she had to endure..That is so sad..Maybe if I could forgive the father, I could possible keep the child but if not give it up for adoption so someone could love the child for it wasn't its fault..
The things little kids have to go through in life sickens me so much..I'm Christain and I know she can be loved through her pain and this child could be loved through the pain. This in no way was Gods fault, but there will be many to say it is..Men have choices to make and this man did a terrible thing, only this man can ask God to forgive him..I know I read in the bible once if someone hurts a child they will be punished..I can't remember where at but I need to look it up again..I will pray for this child(girl) and this little baby..Only God knows what will happen..

I am catholic as well and do not believe in abortion. However ,everything about this child is wrong. There is no telling what kind of deformities the child will have. This little girl should not have to go through everything that would be attached to having this baby.I will pray for her though.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Murdering the baby is a sin , just like rape is. Let the baby live and the dad rot in prison.
