Last night I was at a partay and this hot guy came up to me, we started talking and I really liked him. Then, he asked me about myself, I said I was 18 and he was like “Oh ho! I’m 25.” BUT, he kept talking to me! Like eww, obviously he’s some kind of sick pedo because he KNEW I was 18 and he’s like my father’s age and he was still hitting on me! So eventually I was like “I gotta pee,” and I left. I can’t believe I was hit on by a PEDOPHILE.
How do I report this pedophile to the police? I’m scared for my life!

you're 18 stupid.

Are you really that stupid or playing an idiot? You are 18, a legal adult by law, and he is 25, also a legal adult by law. If you were 16, then yes, he would be committing a crime if he were to make any sexual advances towards you. He is "not" a pedophile because you are a grown woman at 18 and not a little girl, so drop your stupid pedophile logic and grow up! If you feel that 25 is too old for you, then perhaps you still have some growing up and maturing to do. I was 26 and my wife was 20 when we met 6 years ago, so does that make me a pedophile? No because we were both adults. If my wife were to be under 18 at the time, then yes, I would have been committing a crime.

If you go to the cops with this and they ask your age, they will laugh you straight out of the police station and you will be the subject of the day for them to goof about. Save yourself the embarrasment and grow up, you are no longer a little girl.

On a side note, if you will label every guy over the age of 24 a "pedophile", you'll remain a virgin for the rest of your life, unless you intend on becoming a nun and you want to die as an old maid. I'd hate to be the father of the guy who dates you or the actual guy to date you because I would find myself being the subject of a police investigation over some childish bullcrap.

Avoid going to fraternity parties and other places where adults congregate, as you seem to be more comfortable around immature 16 year olds who run around the shopping malls instead.

Here is the law across the entire USA:

18 is legal adult and old enough to consent to sexual relations with another adult, irregarless of how old

21 is legal drinking age

Response to Luis:

You may be right about your assessment about the way the question was posed, but had she done a better job of communicating exactly what she meant instead of sounding like a pre-teen rant about something completely stupid, it would have been clearer to us.

Are you serious?!?! So you mean your father impregnated your mother when he was 7?
At 18 you are past the age of majority in most places in North America. In other words you could be considered an adult.
A young adult, but still you are at the age where you can consent to have sex with any other consenting adult no matter how much he may be older than you.

The point I am trying to make is that this guy can hardly be considered a PEDOPHILE just because he hit on you at a party.
Pedophiles want sex with children, you are at least physicaly, & legally, not a child.

I can see your point where you would be uncomfortable with a guy 7 years older than you, but there are other 18 year old girls who have been known to date guys in their 30's, or older & it's all perfectly legal.

At 18 you are old enough to decide for yourself where your limits are when it comes to dating & sex, & you have a perfect right to be respected for that.

Perhaps a more mature way to handle a situation like that in the future is to say something like, "You should know, I am only interested in guys that are closer to my own age".
I am 55 years old, & have had many interesting conversations with women that are more than 10 years my junior, & it never crossed my mind that I was going to date any of them, let alone have sex with them.
So ask yourself, could it be that you are such an interesting individual, that a guy would still want to have a conversation with you, even though he has already made a conscious decision that you aren't going to work out as dating material?
Maybe you don't think so, but I'll bet there are some guys out there who do.
Cheers!

A 25 year old hitting on an 18 year old is hardly what I'd call a pedophile. Further, unless your father was 7 when you were born he could not have even been close to your father's age.

I don't know about where you live, but here in America 18 is considered the age of consent. So, even if he was 50 and you said yes it would not be pedophilia, just a perfectly legal consentual relationshp.

Now, if you were 12 you might have cause to be upset, although nothing other than conversation happened.

>>Oh ho! I’m 25.” BUT, he kept talking to me! Like eww, obviously he’s some kind of sick pedo because he KNEW I was 18 and he’s like my father’s age and he was still hitting on me<<

So, your Dad was SEVEN years old when he sired you? Then HE must have been with a pedophile himself to get a woman pregnant.

Seriously, you're 18, that's legal age; he's 25, that's only 7 years difference.
I think you need to look up the word in the dictionary for its real meaning before you starting labeling any "older" guy who might show am interest in you.
Why would you report him to the police?
Scared for your life?
Lighten up, and be flattered that SOMEONE showed an interest in you.
I'd hate to be your date, have an argument, then you call the police hollering "rape" because I might have kissed you.
You scare ME, lady.

Am I the only one who maybe understood (right/wrong) that the guy just said 25 because she was 18,and to make it sound like little difference on the ages, obviously he said laying to her just To get going , but the thing here is that he was like his father age maybe 35 or 40 then maybe he is a pedo´ anyhow if you really are 18 you're an adult or its at 21 in USA?,just all the rest don't got it the right way maybe? Now if he really is 25, well I have no more to say just reed what the ppl below wrote

Ok, first of all...
Pedophile... is an adult (over 18) that likes children, (under 18). Being that you're 18... you're an adult.
With that in mind, you can't report him to the police, or if you try to, they'll laugh at you for being stupid.
Third of all... 25 and 18, are only 7 years apart. There's nothing really wrong with that. Especially when the woman is 18...she's more mature, prolly acts like a 20-21 year old, and he being 25 prolly acts like he's 19. Except maybe in your case. You sound like you act like you're 12. What in God's name was he thinking? You must be really cute...that's the only explanation... or... he thought you'd be an easy lay.

First of all you are 18 and you told him that and during the conversation he told you he was 25 so if my math is correct that would be a 7 yr difference. The law says that you are considered an adult at 18 so therefore he would not be a pedophile and perhaps being at a party at 18 and saying "I gotta go pee" is a bit of an immature thing to say and shows your lack of maturity! Chuck E Cheese may be the place you still should be!

First of all, it isn't pedophelia. You are legal, welcome to the real world.

You are also barely legal, which makes you very hot to older guys.

So, suck it up and deal. He didn't try anything. Just realize now that you are legal, if you really are legal, that these things will happen and it is part of growing up.

I also suggest you get a dictionary before you start accusing people of things that they aren't doing by sheer definition.

OH, and if you weren't 18, you shouldn't have said you were. Period. That also means you probably shouldn't have been at that party for just THAT reason.

And if your father is 25, you are 18...that means your father had you when he was 7. If that is true, you have more problems than an older man finding you attractive.

You speak in contradictions if not flat out riddles. You knew he was 25, you also knew you were at a party by your own choice and to have that nice-nasty little experience of fancy you afforded yourself to enjoy the likes of 25 year-olds and other any-year olds, which is to say, adults -- which I might add is exactly what you are if you are 18 years of age. So do cease with this conflicting fixation and false aversion to some pedophile, who in this instance simply does not exist. Do not trouble the authorities with such a farce and waste of energy.

Well, for one you are 18+, so you are totally legal. Second, the guy was only 25, and that's 7 years difference. I'm 26 and my girlfriend is 20 and we are doing GREAT.

A LOT of people date someone with an age gap of 10+ years.
