I just got her a week ago, she loves me to death, I will give her little bones for her teeth, and she will eat those, and she will eat treats, but she doesnt like to eat the food i give her. I also rarely ever see her drinking. Do they not eat alot? I need answers, because she needs to eat!!! Also, it's not the same food that she was being fed at the ladys house I got her from, I cant seem to find the stuff that she was being fed, so i wanted her to adapt to something that is avaiable, I actually have botten her 2 different kinds of foods, and she doesnt like either of them. Please help!

Try a premium dog kibble with meat as the first ingredient (not meat meal, but real meat) ..If she still refuses, add a spoon of Cesar's tinned food, and warm water..She is at an age when hard kibble may be hurting her mouth.
Kibbles that are great for her, and hard to resist, are Canidae, Wellness, Solid Gold, Wysong, Innova, and Natural Balance..You won't find ANY kibble suitable for her at the grocery store..

Stop giving her treats and bones. You can monitor her weight (you'd need a kitchen scale though) to make sure she's not losing weight. Try putting the food out for awhile in the morning, and then take it away whether or not she ate. Then a dinner time put food out for awhile, then take it away whether or not she eats.Sometimes this helps stimulate the appetite. Our little 9 pound poodle only eats about 1/8th of a cup of dry food a day, on the average. Some days he eats less, others more. We keep the dish out all the time and he eats when he feels like it. My husband gives him bites of table food regularly, so I know he doesn't starve. He's not crazy about dry food but eats it when he's hungry. Being slender has helped him stay healthy as he's getting older.

Stop giving her treats. She will start eating more food. If she doesn't start eating soon take her to the vet. Could be serious. But Yorkie's are a pain in my opinion. They also have blood sugar issues so you should watch her closely.

Yorkies don't eat alot, generally. Why don't you call the lady that you got your dog from and find out what she was using. It might have been a more high quality and nutritious food. That would explain why the dog isn't liking what you are providing. After having steak every day who would want to settle for McDonald's?
Hope this helps.

I have two Yorkies and let me tell you they can be very picky eaters. First thing you need to do is cut down on the treats. Set up a schedule of feeding. I feed mine of the morning and then again in the evening. But I do leave dry out for them to nibble on throughout the day and night as they can become Hypoglycemia. Oh and never give them people food as this can upset their stomachs. Your Vet can give you advice on what type of dog food to feed it.

I never knew chicken bones were bad for your dog until I came across this question! My dog happily wolfed a few chicken leg bones last night as he often does and he is absolutely fine. However, upon seeing this question and googling the subject myself it is safe to say my little buddy won't be getting any more. I feel terrible knowing that I put him at risk and am just glad that no harm has ever came to him.
