He needed the colt to fulfil another prophecy that he'd read about. He did a lot of things on purpose so they would say he fulfilled a prophecy.

Luke 19 doesn't say the disciples stole a colt; in fact, He told the disciples that, in case the owner questioned them, they were to tell him that "the Lord has need of" the colt. This implies Jesus knew the colt was owned by a believer.
I'm sure any of Jesus' believers would have been incredibly proud to know He rode into Jerusalem on their donkey.
Peace.

It's clear from the passage that once the owner of the colt asked where they were taking the colt, that he had no objections to them using his colt for the Lord's sake. Apparently this man was a believer in Jesus also. (it's not stated, but if he wasn't, he would've had the disciples charged with theft).

Yep, the disciples 'hijacked' a colt for Jesus to use...Actually it's a donkey why some translations say that is beyond me.
However, no matter which translation it is apparent that the owners were asking "Why are you untying it?" Just as if out of curiousity, they were among those following Jesus' so they were admirers of His ministry; so there was no theft.

Nothing in Luke 19 that says that.
The owners gave it up willingly after the men said "The Lord needs it." Many times Jesus' words were all it took to convince men and women.
Luke 11:14 Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. "

Doesn't sound like stealing to me.
1As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.' "
4They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5some people standing there asked, "What are you doing, untying that colt?"
6They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.

Jesus asked them to borrow a colt and if the owner said anything, to tell him, the Lord has need of it. I'm sure it was returned afterward. You will have to do better than that if you are trying to discredit Jesus.

He didn't tell them to steal it, he just said that if they would go to a certain place they would find a young colt there. He also asked them at the same time to arrange for an upper room and it sort of sounded to me like it was the same place. I don't believe they stole anything.

It was all in good fun. Try to be a little tolerant, okay? As the Christians, I am sure, are tolerant of you.

"If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
... he will send them right away. He let them take it. That's not stealing.
