I think you're not asking about the "convergence" but rather what's called "white balance". For a general adjustment, turn the color level in the customer menu all the way down, or tune in a black and white channel. The proper amounts of Red Green and Blue will make it white. Turn them all down then start with green. Turn it up til you see something. Then turn up the red until it looks yellow. Last turn up the blue til it looks white. Go back and set your color level to whatever intensity you prefer. Personally I like about 25% of scale for color intensity.

Using your remote you should be able to access an option called "convergence". Here you will find either a crosshair or a series of crosshairs. Follow the directions at the bottom to adjust the colors into the white crosshair.

3 notes: One, for optimal picture quality, use the main seat you will be sitting in, preferably directly in front of the TV when you are adjusting the convergence. Two, depending on the model, your remote may only be able to access the single large crosshair. This may be enough to do the job. Then again, if the bulb was out and/or if the lamp was shook and moved dramatically... It may not be enough. In which case, you may need to contact the manufacturer and purchase what they will call a "service" remote or a "master" remote. Third, understand that a projection TV is NOT a HDTV, nor even a standard TV. You should be able to get good color and decent detail, but there will always be some edge blurring. Particularly with white lettering - Expect odd color sparkling here.

Good luck!

If the blue crt is out you can't adjust the color. The crt is located inside the tv. You will need to have a tv repair person replace it.

On the projection tv's you can only adjust the color by aligning the 3 crt's. This is done from the front buttons its in a menu option (look for convergence). Hitachi tv's does this automatically.

This will depend on whether it has 3 'guns' or a single one with a colour wheel. The symptoms sound like a 3 'gun' one where one tube (blue) is burnt out. Its worth checking whether there is a build up of dust on the optics as a good clean could do the trick if all tubes are functional. If you can look in the back while it's on it should be easily apparent, (don't touch anything while its connected to the power of course). Getting a replacement if needed may not be so easy though.

depends on how old and how bad. My husband fixes tvs. Some tvs can adjust the convergence on the remote. Some of the older tvs have little knobs on the front under a panel. If the picture is bowed (curved) on any side, then the conv. IC chips need to be replaced. it takes a while.
