More concerned with just getting a dang ring on their finger than who it is actually coming from?

Can someone please explain to me why alot (not all) women have this freaking obsession with a dang ring? Shouldnt it be more important that you are with the person you love rather than finding someone who wants to marry you?

The whole diamond and ring phenomenon starting in the early 1900's.

Rings have always been a symbol of ownership. That is right, rings are ownership, but have become statements of marriage. Earrings you to be used a way to mark your slaves.

In the early 1900's the De-beers Company who owns about 85% percent of the worlds diamond supply created an illusion that diamonds were a symbol of beauty and elegance. Gold was the world standard of currency and wealth for centuries, but diamonds had no monetary value until the start of 20th century.
Have you ever heard stories of pirates digging for diamonds? Early Hollywood celebrities were the test market for this new precious stone. All the most famous women began to wear them and it caught on. Since then, women were led to believe, if you didn't get a ring, especially a diamond ring, you are failure or the man doesn't really love you.

Diamonds can be man made and are just a beautiful, but jewelry companies have lobbied against it for over 100 years. Diamonds are carbon based which can be processed in a factory and sold for much less then what you pay now, but who wants to lose billions of dollars. CEO of GE lost his job and almost his life for producing man made diamond back in the early 1960's.

Diamonds are more useful to science then consumers.

Hey! I totally agree. I know some women that have their whole wedding day planned out, down to the napkins on the tables, yet they do not give any thought to the guy that they would like to marry. I am not into jewelry, and do not care what kind of ring I would recieve, I just dream of being so hopelessly in love with a great guy and spending the rest of my life with him. I think most women are competitive and want a bigger and better ring than their female friends to show off and brag about (gag me!).

If you are a good lady you will be satisfied with one. Else you will keep moving from one place to another and each person would be tasting your body but no body would marry you or make you a life partner. You will never have kids when they are desirable and You will never give birth to healthy children because then you would not be in your best health and you will never have a family and no body will love you and call you a granny with love. You will always miss cute kids around you.

The need to demonstrate to their peers that someone desires and loves them enough to give them an expensive ring. Incidentally diamond rings are the worst investment. If you pay $10,000 today for a diamond ring, take it back to the shop tomorrow to sell it, you would be lucky to get an offer of $2,500.

all of us is identifying to purchase and merchandising of their extensive SUVs for the small SUV because of the fact that's the cool element to do now and it saves on gasoline with the gasoline expenditures going up like they are. Realistically, it does not keep too lots and that they at the instant are not as plush or roomy. If I had a call between a Porsche Cayenne and a Ford excursion, lifted, i might get the Ford excursion.

I agree with you this is so true some women only care about material things like a ring instead of just carrying about the person who is going to marry them.

Those women are called gold diggers.

Women like to feel their man loves them
A ring is a visible symbol of that love.

Pressure.

From society, from our families, from our friends, from the media, and from ourselves.

As time goes on and more and more of your friends are getting married...you start to get desperate. "*I* should be getting married!" you think, "Before all the good ones are taken! Before I can't attract a guy with my fading looks! Before I'm too old to bear healthy children!"

And then you take a gamble on a guy, and sometimes it works out.

I don't know why. . .

I will only accept a ring if it is a symbol of eternity from a man.
If it's a symbol, of committment, family, love, and eternity.

otherwise it's just a ring. . .nothing more.
