Hey there!!
Parmesan is a versatile cheese that you can use in plenty of dishes - ranging from salads (where you can shave off bits of the cheese) to pastas and soups (usually shaved or grated on the top) to pizzas and open top sandwiches...
The best way to store the cheese would be to wrap it in some cheesecloth or cling film and store in the refrigerator... dont freeze it as I feel it messes up the texture... :-)
Have fun! Bon appetit!

If it was purchased already grated for you, you simply sprinkle it on top of foods (generally of the Italian variety) Store in the fridge. If you are lucky enough to have a block of ungrated Parmesan (Parmesan Reggiano is the best) you must grate it fresh over or into your hot foods. It is a lovely, yet acquired, taste.
