You're describing an amide. Although, since you brought this up under "medicine" I have to also remind you that amino acids, which have an amine group at one end and a carboxylic acid at the other, polymerize into "polypeptides" which are linked by "peptide bonds". Thus, the peptide link is also an amide link.
