I assume that LED lights would be the best, but what kind? We have a wall (dry-wall) with a large section of it being translucent glass. We would like to make the wall light up from the bottom. How?

You could use LED strips, available at specialist entertainment and architectural stores. A funky idea would be RGB strips so that you can change the colour of the wall. An easier and simpler idea would be to mount a T5 flouro tube under the bottom edge of the glass. I suggest T5 as it is very slim and ultra bright.
