I assume that LED lights would be the best, but what kind? We have a wall (dry-wall) with a large section of it being translucent glass. We would like to make the wall light up from the bottom. How?

If its glass block you can drill a hole and insert indoor christmas lights in a couple of the glass blocks. Its a lot of work and you need diamond glass cutting drill bit but it looks awesome.

Place light on one of the edges so that it travels through the glass.

You can also use Electro Luminescent panels. They come in white and many other colors. There illumination is very even over there surface.
