Good for you! I am a retired nurse. Just wait til those whiney, lazy, "it's not my fault" student nurses have to take state boards! And then when they start working in real life, there are no second and third chances. As a nurse, you need to know your stuff! You need to make accurate assessments, correct calculations, right choices in the blink of an eye. The nurse manager of their unit, the physicians, the patients and their families won't put up with whiney excuses that can have disatrous effects on people's lives. When you are fresh out of school and one of the physicians skins you alive for doing something stupid, this reality really hits home!

You have done nothing wrong. Those who failed the course understood from the outset that it was a five week course and that's more than enough time to learn drug calcs.
You are not necesarily to blame. Do you know for a fact that the rest of your class was denied a third chance to test because of you or are you guessing that this is the reason?
Don't worry about the poor losers. Some people would rather blame anything - the course, the instructor - rather than take responsibility for themselves. If they were having difficulty understanding the simple concept of D over H x Q, etc., there is a thing called asking questions, there is also a thing called tutoring. There are reasons why these people failed the exam twice.
There has to be a limit to how many times a person can be tested on the same material. And I agree that to allow multiple testing is unfair to those who passed the first time. If they couldn't pass after a second test, they obviously haven't learned to calculate and need to retake the course. I find this a little odd because they passed an entrance/assessment exam, did they not? With math as a part of it.
It will be uncomfortable for you knowing how some of your classmates may hold you responsible but they are the ones responsible, not you. This is an immature attitude. Try not to let them bother you. You're not there to make friends. You're there to learn to be a good nurse. And sometimes, both in school and on the job, we have to make unpopular decisions that happen to be the right decisions.
If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know.

Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe. I, for one, am glad to see some people are still honorable and have values.
You did the right thing. Many people in todays social classes are lazy and want an easy life handed to them. Many do not work hard to make it and expect scond, third and fourth chances. If teachers and other people stood their ground and made others work hard for their goals, we'd have less of this problem. It's a shame when some people think they should recieve more chances while others worked very hard the first time.
Stick to your guns and be proud you have ethical values.

I seriously doubt the dean made a decision based on the comment from one student. Policies are usually longstanding and aren't that easily changed. I think those that failed are looking for someone to blame other than themselves and you are falling for it. Relax the decision not to let them go for a third try was decided before this happened and has nothing at all to do with you.

Welcome to life. I would have written the letter, too. It isn't fair to get 3 chances to take it (not fair for 2 chances unless it's some kind of catastrophic reason you missed the first) Would you want a nurse taking care of you who couldn't pass the exam on 2-3 tries? I sure wouldn't. I'd rather have someone like YOU.
Congrats. Let it go. Who cares. They only have themselves to blame for not passing it.
