Why do you think that is?

I have no religion or faith, what with being an atheist and all.

Over the long run, our numbers have been increasing, and, I believe, will continue to do so.

But then nearly evryone who has answered you so far believes their guys' numbers are increasing, too.

Of course, world population is growing, so we may all be right.

I do believe that eventually people will increasingly become atheist, perhaps to the extent of religion dieing out altogether.

But it will take a long time.

Just from my small point of view: Half of my family is Muslim and my mothers side is Christian. Our Mosque is flourishing and many people come to find out more about Islam, and they like it once they get there and see it in a real way, not on television or newspaper articles--- There has been a steady 2-4 curious and consistent people coming a week, and new converts all the time.

My mom's church is still going strong as well, and she says many new families go to Sunday worship, so I think that religion as a whole is making a strong comeback. People need God in their lives.

I really don't know.

I also really don't know what difference it makes.

God does not need popular opinion to be true.

A man who is right is a majority of one.

God is not up for a vote, many have been mis-led in the past and will again in the future.

If you have nothing more to prove your faith than number or conversion rate, you have a shallow Religion.

Peace and God Bless!

I can only speak for major Western religions. ( I know nothing of Islam, nor Buddhists, etc)
Yes, I believe people are not joining and staying in faith-based institutions as they did even 50 years ago. You want to know MY answer to the decline? Television! We no longer have to congregate in one building to amuse, converse, associate. Now, we can sit at home, cell phones in our pockets and be amused at Seinfeld. Who needs God when you can have Jerry Seinfeld!

transforming into a member of a faith should not be so common as asking some human beings on-line about what they imagine. Its about searching for a real answer. no you'll discover the reality for you, you may want to discover it for your self. If everybody the following tells you what faith you need to connect, please do not listen. Its a own decision that in common words you need to make for your self.

Where I live (buenos aires) people is leaving religion, because it hasnt helped in anything and its only taking away people's time and money

i don't know if they are leaving actually, or they just stop believing, but in my opinion, the reason they leave or maybe stop believing is because not all people are smart enough to fully comprehend and grasp the intellectual and theological studies of my religion.

Look at the Christian liars above who believe their faith is flourishing-it's heading down the pan and if you had the capacity for honesty you would admit it.

It is growing fast.
People are hearing the call from the Lord.
People can sense some very evil things are on the rise and they want to be assured of salvation.
