Oh, yeah! That'll calm people right down when you start stripping them of their place of worship!

I think the best thing that can happen to any Church,Temple, Mosque, etc is to be burnt to the ground. They are useless buildings that show nothing but the ability of mankind to allow his reason to be trumped by his silly superstition. If we had spent all the money we have spent on religion worldwide over the course of history on space programs we would probably be colonizing another planet or two by now. That's just one example of course but what if we had spent every dime researching diseases instead,we might right now have no incurable diseases. But instead people will continue to give money to the biggest tax exempt business on Earth, the church, what a waste.

NO!!!!

Society NEEDS religion. Every culture on earth has religion. It is an important method of societal control. Conquerers in the past have learned the hard way that you must NOT take away the people's religion by force. You'll see a conquered society converting to the conquerer's religion, but that is usually willful. Trying to rip away religion will not only create opposition and violence, actually succeeding (which is impossible) will lead to a breakdown of society.

Not in the United States. It would be tampering with the First Amendment. And the implications would be further reaching than religious fervor. We could become a complete police state or a dictatorship.

Absolutely not. They have to be there. Mandating that by an external agency is absolutely wrong.

... People should take them down themselves.

No, we should educate everyone better (universal right to education is a nice utopia) so that they don't need them so much, then the numbers would descend on their own.

I don't really think taking away anything will help. Maybe just add more of every religion.
