I love mead and I'm buying it for two special events. Some mead can taste a bit like sherry and I hate those. I need a dry nutty taste, which warms you with a glow. I've tried Celtic, Lindisfarne, Saxon and Old English. Are there any more out there?

I don't know of any specifically just because different people have different tastes and percieve tastes differently, but below is a link to a wikipedia articale that lists all the varietie of Mead. Maybe you can find one in the list that might suit your particular tastes.

I just discovered meads before Thanksgiving and I love it. I took 2 bottles to Thanksgiving and, for a family who doesn't like wine, we finished them off! I have been getting Camelot Mead, and my notes are "sweet and honey" so it may not be what you're looking for.

I looked around and can't find much about a dry mead, and most wine websites don't mention meads. However, below is what I found...but I haven't tried this. Good luck!

Honeysun African Mead - Dry
This mead is enjoyed by those who have learned the subtleties of mead and can savour the extremely discreet honey notes and pleasant almond aftertaste.

Best served chilled with game, red meats and curries. A sociable after dinner drink that will assist the consumer in solving the worlds problems (in theory)!

Chaucers is a really good mead, and if you like spiced, it's sold with mulling spices you can add. Wine spectator gave it a 92.

Redstone Meadery makes wonderful mead. My particular favorite is their apricot mead. Plus, it comes in a right nifty cobalt blue flip-top (like Grolsh) bottle.
