I've dealt with a lot of cancer within my family and while there's nothing you can say or do to make it better, I've found that if she knows that you'll be there for her the whole way it'll mean a lot to her.
It's one of those things that are really hard to deal with but having people around you, supporting you, makes it a little easier, so it's not like they're facing it alone.

Just let the person know that you are there for them and available some times just sitting with a person going threw a serious illness is a great comfort .Words are not easy to come by at times like this Listen for clues if they want you to listen to them ( listen )if they ask you question answer the best way you can and if you can't answer then admit it .Touching is important hold their hand be yourself love them try to follow them and above all remember that Cancer dose not always mean death not today things have evolved

Support in whatever ways you can & are comfortable with & make sure it's sincere & genuine. Don't make promises you can't keep at a time like this. Some people are so uncomfortable with it & the fact that they don't know what to say, they sometimes say things they don't really mean & at a time like this it's horrible. Offer prayers, your time, run errands, bring food, take the person out when they are up to getting out. It's the little things that count the most & go a long way. Also, support but don't pity.

You don't, the best thing you can do for her is to let her know that you are there for her. Be it listening, support, a shoulder to cry on, etc.

Offer to take her/pick her up from DR. appointments. Espeically once (if) chemo starts. It's really nice to have someone there for you.
