Like, if you never leave your small town for example, and only read a couple books, and have a group of family and friends that believe the exact way as yourself, will you just be that person?

Is the only way to gather and become more of yourself to face consequences or confrontations?

Yes.

If you never learn new words, then you can never learn new ideas.

Ex: when slave ownership was around, blacks were not taught the word "free" or "freedom", if they didnt know the word, then they could not concieve of how to be "free". Not until blacks learned to read did they learn that to be "free" was something that they could become.

We are what we know.

There is a whole big world out there. If a person cannot do much traveling, like me, than the only way to learn is to read about other places, beliefs, and people.

I have always been on a mission of some kind. It is my personality. Since I have no college degree, I learned a lot by asking questions. I am so grateful to the many kind people who have helped to enlighten and nurture me.

CPT is feeling deep today.

In a sense, yes. If you never explore your options and try new things you never learn your true likes and dislikes. However, there are many people in life who go out in search of a new life only to find that they left themselves back where they started. Of course, in the end, they at least know while others may end up with regrets.

Good question. If the television, newspapers, internet, etc. all say evolution is true, then everyone is going to start believeing it. Hitler once said, "if you tell a lie long enough and often enough the people will believe it"

I think this is true up to a point, but the remainder is made up of being open to other possibilities. If someone decides he/she has cornered the market on truth, there's no reason to learn anymore.

Doing so, however, won't necessarily make you a better or more complete person. It will likely make you a different person, which may or may not be a good thing.
