Install a popup blocker, like Google Toolbar (which is free).
Use an Internet Explorer alternative, like Firefox.
Make sure your Messenger service is disabled. Follow directions here on how to do that:

If you are using Internet Explorer it is very easy to totally stop pop ups you go to Tools, Internet Options, then select the Privacy tab, in this area make sure the box that has Pop up Blocker is checked. then you will need to click apply and ok. That should take care of it. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

First of first stop using IE any version, because IE is mosty attacked brower by advertising and popup sender sites. Use another browser like FireFox and one another Maxthon. Maxthon runs on IE engine with all its functionalities but with its own extremely effective (i can bet i u see a single one popup) popup blocker and security tools. And u can block scripts, images, activex, flash just on a click. just enable a cross in its status and magic begin.. Firefox is also another best option. if u still not want to change, right click on ads and see the option Ad-block or block this content option and enable it. Do a spyware check..
thanks!

Depending on what you use to surf internet.
1. upgrade IE(internet Explorer) to newest version
2. get a popup blocker.
3. install FIREFOX.
4. install virus scanner, sometime they include popup blocker.
* if it pop up for no reason than your computer is infected. best way is to reformat the window than do one of above. I recommend get firefox.*
