lives on eternally if they exist through a certain brand of worship to one of numerous and differing gods and religious forms. Is your understanding we, as a species cannot get along otherwise?

I think I agree with twowords. The soul exists, or not, regardless of one's particular religious beliefs. It survives death, or not, regardless of those beliefs.

Some believe otherwise - for instance that believers in one doctrine or another are to be spared while others will be terminated or subjected to eternal torture (mmmmm, Jesus pulling one's nails in hell was how one answer put it). Such beliefs are utterly baseless and an impediment to their owner's spiritual progress.

The religion is of no consequence. The spirit or soul does live on eternally because there is life after death.

No, I believe whatever your religious preference or lack thereof, doesn't matter; Your spirit continues to 'be' regardless. The only difference is how much sooner or later you will advance yourself.
