Boiling is not the word you need here, you want to "Blanch" it, brocolli is a flourette veggie and does not take a long time to cook, boiling water yes, drop brocolli in to the water, when it comes back to the boil shut it off wait 2 minutes and presto your done

Yes you can, but the best way is to steam it, as you have been doing. By boiling it you will lose most of the nutrients in the water. Not really a good idea.

you're able to do what's spoke of as parboil. you in simple terms get a super pot of water, deliver it to a sturdy boil, put in your brocolli (be particular you wash it sturdy in chilly water 1st), enable it boil for 2-3 min. Drain off water. in case you're doing a super batch this is advisable to dip it out with a super slotted spoon (greater the extra helpful). place in freezer bags and freeze.

It's great breaded and deep-fried too. Not healthy, but good.

You can also stir-fry it with some soy sauce, chopped red bell pepper and sesame seeds. Microwave the broccoli in a little bit of water first so it's somewhat cooked because stir-frying does not cook broccoli much. It just sort of heats it up.

Yes, broccoli can be blanched or boiled in a small amount of water, but do not overcook. Broccoli will retain its bright green color, crisp tenderness and sweetness if you cook it just until a fork can pierce the stalk.

yes but it sucks the nutrients and flavor out of it. Steaming is better. You can also roast it. You can roast almost any veggie. Cut brocolli and put on roasting pan drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Watch it carefully you don't want the florets to get to brown...ick. Ive also had it fried.

Yes, boil it in lightly salted water until just fork tender. Serve with a hollandaise sauce or melted cheese or, with pan browned/blackened butter over the top.

Blanch it..

Boil it for a whil and then strain it and put it in iced water. This makes the broccoli taste better and look fresh

Buy Birds Eye brand broccoli florets in the freezer section. Then you put them in the microwave for 5 min. So easy!

You can boil it, but it looses all of its flavor and gets limp and yucky looking. You could stir fry it, that would keep its nice bright green color and flavor. I usually steam all of my veggies, my family likes their veggies lightly steamed so that they are slightly crunchy.
