Nope alot of cysts are benign. Some are malignant ..cancerous. They are always removed and always tested by a pathologist or at least a biopsy is done.

No.
Cysts are a collection of fluid within a specific cavity. Cysts can form from tumors, after injuries, after bleeding in the brain, or as developmental fluid filled spaces. Spinal cysts are usually benign outpouchings of the covering of spinal nerve roots that are also known as Tarlov's cysts. It is rare that they are symptomatic but can occasionally cause back pain. If symptomatic, they can be treated by surgical resection. They are common and can occur anywhere on the body at any age.

No. Cysts are almost always just cysts. They can usually be aspirated (put a needle in it and draw the fluid out) and then you are fine. They will probably send the fluid to the lab--that's standard--but cysts are normally just infections. They will culture the fluid so they can determine which antibiotic you should be on.

Not necessarily; many cysts are benign cysts (my mom, aunt, and sister have had many - seems to be a family thing). Only a biopsy and/or examination by a pathologist can tell for sure.

No they are not automatically cancer. You need to get a biopsy done to make sure it's not cancerous.
