Hi, I was wondering if people could each list 3 or more similarities between Muslim and Christian religions, then least an equal amount of differences. I'm Agnostic and pretty ignorant on both, though I know a little more about Christian faiths because of being American. They both strike me as pretty similar religions in that they both seem to believe in one true God, Heaven, Hell and one particular prophet above all others. Correct me if I'm wrong on those, I'm very ignorant about Muslim religions. I know there are a lot of different Muslim and Christian religions too, so listing a particular one such as Catholic or Shiite as an example is fine. I simply want to learn more about both, and this seems like a good starting point for future research. Thank you!

That is simply not true, a quick google search found the following quotes in an English Qu'ran translation @
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/quranindex.html#M

Forgiveness
"004.096
YUSUFALI: Ranks specially bestowed by Him, and Forgiveness and Mercy. For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

Mercy
"004.017
YUSUFALI: Allah accept the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy: For Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom."

Truth
"002.042
YUSUFALI: And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is). "

Christians and Muslims believe in one God but that's about it. There isn't a whole lot of similarity between them other than that.

We are alike in that we believe in One God,We are both Abrihamic religions we have near enough the same prophets and we believe that Jesus(as) will return.

The differences are. Us Muslims believe Jesus (as) is a prophet not a son of God,we believe the last prophet to be Muhammad(pbuh),we do not believe in the trinity.

Both believe in a God
Both have rules
Both have "wise men" saying things

Christians aren't required kill you if you leave the religion
Christians are't required kill you if you don't follow God's words
Christian "wise men" don't marry 6 year old girls

Their is no comparison I assure you, even though they mention Abraham and Christ as prophets as well as Mary, Gabriel and others, the bottom line of the Koran is to convert the world to Islam or kill it.
