Now this is to the non spirit filled to the pentecostal-charismatic who has worshipped at the shrine of user friendly services. Why do you fight against the free, liberating, move of God's Holy Spirit?
I mean, no where in scripture does God say I will cease using the gifts of the Spirit. Besides wouldn't that make a fair and just God and "indian giver"? Also, if he was perfect why would he give them at a state of perfection then take them away? Seems if he took em away that would mean he had to change? Also, all through the Bible we see God demonstrating His power and presence through supernatural manifestations! Either through healing, miracles, prophecy, utterance in tongues. Places where God is freely allowed to move have more revival, more life, more people set free from evil habits (drugs, alcohol, perversions ) instead of copping out that God changed and miracles ceased (which aint in the bible) maybe "the Faith" for miracles ceased and people got more religious than real!

I agree wholly with you that the gifts have not been shut off. Perhaps faith is a bit lacking or perhaps faith is there but not the exercise of it. In my church we have seen a man healed of deadly prostate cancer after we formed a circle around him layed on hands and prayed that God would work a miracle to heal him and strengthen our faith. We are but mortal, frail humans and sometimes we need something physical to help us believe. His doctors are still mumbling in disbelief that his cancer disappeared.
On that note:
1Corinthians chapter 12 makes it clear that not all will have every gift. So for a church to insist that every member must speak in tongues to be baptised by the Holy Spirit does not fair well with the bible.
Some will have the gift of healing, some teachers, some tongues, some workers of miracles. NOT ALL WILL HAVE EVERY GIFT. NOT ALL WILL HAVE THE SAME GIFT.

So, is God under any obligation to keep repeating the same activities over and over? His purpose in the world is to seek and to save that which is lost. Not to perform miracles at the behest of any church group that insists on it.
I believe that God still acts in miraculous ways. I just get fed up with people thinking they have a control over that. Or that God necessarily has to keep acting in the same way.
For instance, God is not continuing to produce new books of the Bible. Because it is complete.

I dont have any problem with Gifts of the Spirit but if it causes confusion and disorderly worship, it is either not of God or, the gift is being used wrong.

1Cor 14:32The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.

If you are speaking of tongues, real Christianity gave that up a long time ago because it causes confusion in the church. In fact, my denomination prohibits it in the church.

Then how come nothing's happening now?
God departed out of disgust, the whole human race makes him sick. He packed up and said "You're on your own, perverts."
The cosomos is vast and God has better places to reside.
