the one i have on my back is 10" long by 6" wide...it hurt like hell...four hours of torture, and i have a very high pain tolerance level. i pierced my own tongue, lip, and labret and had 4 babies w/o drugs--the thing is, there were burrs on the shading needles, and she hammered me also cuz she was po'd at her b/f. so not only am i tattooed, it's scarred and is raised up about 1/8th of an inch. it is literally 3 dimensional. apparently, you haven't been "hammered" yet. you'll know it when it happens. out of my 9 tats, i have 2 that didn't hurt. i also have a condition that developed a few years ago, called fibromyalgia. it causes you to have extreme pain in your nerves and muscles, and severe hot spots on your skin...so ever since then, tats hurt more than they used to. not everyone is a wimp...just different levels of pain they can tolerate, or tattoo artists who are better than some. i always have to wonder about ppl who over-generalize and lump everyone who are not like themselves into a catagory. it shows a lack of mature thought process.

I wasn't dying from pain when I got my tattoos, but there were areas that made me cringe a bit from the pain. There is some pain to them, there always will be but generally I'm relaxed and calm while getting a tattoo, but I like watching it done, so I would never sleep through the process.

I have one on my ankle, and yes it stung like a b i Tch. Everyone has different pain tolerance levels. Most of all digging into the flesh with a needle is going to hurt some. Where I got my tattoo, there was a sign and it said "YES it DOES HURT"

because something hurts doesn't mean you are a whimp. it means that your body perceives pain differently. mine all hurt but i think the pain is a good thing and love the feeling of having a tattoo. anything worth having is painful in some way. sorry if you think that we'll be impressed by your claim of no pain... but i'm not. who cares? all that matters in the end is what the tattoo looks like. post a link... let's see!!

Your not a liar, I have one on my lower back it didn't hurt. I think it just depends on the person. I slept through all four of my tattoos. And I'll probably sleep through the next. I like being tattooed.

It isn't surprising that you slept in the midst tattooing and nobody will give you a trophy for that because some people can sleep with the head right in front of a loudspeaker at nightclubs and don't get applauded.
I hate tattoos

It depends on where it is placed. The one on my back did not hurt, the one on my shin didn't hurt but the one on the ankle really hurt. It was on the side and close to the bone. It was very painful but so worth it.

I have 4 and none of them hurt. I was scared when I got my first one because everyone said it did and when it started I was laughing because it was like a tickle.

lol every one reacts differently to pain, we are not all created the same, so wat it hurts to some people i have 1 on my rib cage and it hurt you i cant deny the fact that it hurt bu i can embrace the fact that i can handle it, i think you perception of pain and tolerance are different than mine, but seriously why you gotta come on here and call people wimps if they admit that their tattoo hurt, no offense but maybe you have a lot of fat on you back....
