First I think it depends on the person. If that person new you were a lower class person when he meet you it should not be a problem. I think if a person love you that should be the only thing. The question is are the person marrying you for love or the money. I think love over weight money anytime, because you can take away the money but NEVER the LOVE. Also, I use to feel the same way the guy I am dating has a high government job I have a middle class job, but he new what he was getting hisself in away.

As long as the one at the higher status doesn't act badly. They would need to realize how life is for people at the lower status.

yes,unless the marriage is based on money ,then the answer is no.high or low social status means your in a higher tax bracket or your just a snob.if there is no love ,trust,compassion there is no marriage.
