Okay, you’re right. It’s not as bad as people think it is. They don’t do enough research. It’s hard to wrap your mind around it when it isn’t something that goes on in this culture though. To be perfectly honest, most people are in arranged marriages. Even in America.

I loved my husband when I married him, but I wouldn’t have married him if he wasn’t compatible with me. My marriage was arranged by my husband and myself.

By very definition of marriage, it must be “arranged”. It’s not like you just wake up and “oops I’m married”. Many different types of people have different wants, needs and desires and there are many kinds of marriages that can fulfill those wants, needs and desires.

I think that it really depends on the local custom. An arranged marriage is where the parents of the bride and groom arrange for them to be married. I think that someplaces they may be able to meet each other before the marriage. Someplaces maybe not. But someone else puts the two together and decides that they will marry. Sometimes, they work out great and sometimes they don't. I am glad that I glad that I don't have to do the arranged marriage thing.

From what I have been told, it is when a mother and father arrange a marriage for their daughter or son- to be married to another who they do not know.

Also now a days there are mail order brides, so they are arranged to marry men in the U.S or other countries and they come over having never met the person.

I do not think that an arranged marriage would be a man asking a girl to marry him and she has the choice...that is a normal proposal.

both are arrange but they are both beautiful in a sense, culutures who do this do not belive in one true love except for love of blood. they belive love is accepted (if you will) these marriages are about continuing on a bloodline of healthy responsible childern that become adults The main focus is family and blood, not love and sex like most americans focus on.
