Your reputation is earned on what and how you do things in life and toward other people. There opinion of you is based on what you say mostly and how you act in public.
If you lie and people know you will never get the respect back that you once had with people. There opinion of you will be tainted with this lie. ..Is it worth your reputation to lie if it is then you are not the person most people think you are in life.

It's OK to lie when the ends justify the means. But people are usually pretty good about when to lie and when not to lie. Some of us lie too much, and some of us don't lie enough -- either one we catch onto pretty easily, because it's embarrassing getting caught lying, but it's also disappointing to have something harmful happen to us, when we know we could have lied to avoid it.

Usually to not cause anyone unnecessary pain or grief. It would be on a case by case basis. Unfortunately allot of people use this as an excuse to cover their own bad behavior. Meaning a person will do something terrible (intentionally or for selfish reasons) to a friend or loved one and lie about it and say to themselves "If I tell the truth I will only be hurting him/her"

If it gets you out of trouble or puts the blame of a bad situation off on someone else...It's ALWAYS OK TO LIE!

One time is when you're lying so you can give someone a surprise later on! I told my BF I couldn't afford the present he really wanted for his birthday, so please don't be disappointed. Then I gave him what he wanted. It was a little lie, but ok, I thought.

I could pretend to be one of those holier than thou people and say never but I think the truth is if it's not gonna hurt anyone and isn't done out of like malice then go right ahead!

Even the great tamil poet "THIRUVALLUVAR"(who lived centuries ago) has said that it is ok to lie, if it is good for somebody...

How about NEVER!!!!!! This world is already full of liars, bullshi1, and whom are we to turn too for real true answers, or at least human beings that is. We can turn to God, but on earth, who is it we can trust, we have to live with each other and that is what makes liars so hard to live with...
