Arden Forest, Hurtgen etc. Many battles was fought on the German border near France, heavily wooded.

Heurtgen forest was solely fought in the woods and was extremely costly to the allies as the terrain favored the defenders who happen to be SS and German alpine corps as well as paratroopers. Not the kind of guys you want to take on especially if your mostly made up of green infantry.

Which woods and which country ? Europe is a big place kid and WW2 was not just in Europe as the name implies it spread all over and was fought in many types of terrain

Huertgen Forest.The Ardennes doesn't count since the area wasn't totally forested.
Also, from what I remember reading,there were very few SS and mountain troops involved in that battle.
