Well, my dog recently died..and i was thinking of buying a new one. I was going for a Husky or Shephered...but i believe they would be too big for my house...and my house doesn't even have a front or backyard! My mother suggested in buying a small breed, and i kinda didn't agree with her on it..i'm looking for a nice dog breed which is hypo-allergenic, or whatever, as long as it doesn't get people allergic...since my mom detests dogs 'inside' the house.

3rd detail..sorry about the first, stupid typo >.> The dog that died was a jap spitz/shih tzu mix. And even though i don't have yards, my house is still pretty big for a medium or large sized dog.

I would have neever thought I would give this answer before, but... I moved in with a girlfriend who owned a long haired chihuahua. I thought I was going to hate it. This animal has taken over my life! I LOVE it! It's playful, extremely loving, and devoted like you wouldn't believe.

Get a cockapoo! They are a cocker spaniel and poodle mix, and hypo-allergenic. I have picked maybe three hairs off of my clothes in total since I've had him (over a year!) The important part about this is that they have HAIR- not fur.
They come in a few different sizes, there is a teacup (around six pounds) a mini (around 15) and a large (25-35 pounds). I have the mini and he is the perfect size. He's small enough to cuddle with and take in the car, but big enough so that's he's not delicate. He fits perfectly on my hip when I lean sideways- I just have to hook an arm around him to keep him there.
They come in a huge amount of different colors- buff, red, black, white, parti... pretty much any combination that can be created from the poodle and spaniel mix.
Temperament: I've met a ton of these dogs, and they are angles. My puppy is absolutely the sweetest thing in the world- he wakes me up in the morning with a lick on the face and cuddles up with me. Normally boy dogs aren't very affectionate, but all of the male cockapoos I've seen are actually more affectionate than the females.
They are moderately easy to train, and from what I've seen, they can hold their bladder for a reasonably long time. My puppy makes it all day- from nine until five, and while he was hard to train at first, once it clicked he never forgot.
The only small issue is that because they have hair, it can get matted easily. A shorter cut (around 2 inches) is a good length for my dog, if it gets too much longer it gets matted easily, especially under the elbows. You said you had a shih tzu mix before, so I assume you know the deal with this. Grooming runs about every three months, but the only reason really to get groomed is a trim on top of the head and nail clippers. If you're comfortable with grooming your dog, that's even better.
If you get one of these dogs, you will never regret it. At the risk of sounding like an overzealous mom, I don't know how'd I live without my baby. I got mine a year ago, and I thank god everyday that I stumbled upon their breed while searching on google. If you want to ask some more questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them. I can reccomend a breeder in NJ, if you're close! My email is mrscaptainsparrow@yahoo.com.

if it is a dog that can not be inside you definitly do not want a small dog since they are temperature sensitive. and if you do not have a front or back yard you should not have a large dog because they like to run and play....i mean where exactly would you be keeping this dog? maybe you should wait until you have a larger house with a fenced in backyard and somewhere that you can keep the dog. it doesnt seem like you can actually have a dog right now.

The Carin Terrier is I believe one of the few dogs that shed very little. They are small but fun. Labs are awesome, look for a lab mix at the shelter. They shed as well as Huskies, and German Shepherds. I have a lab mix and she lives in the house. She has long hair and I keep her shaved to keep down the shedding. Good luck.

the toughest element approximately dogs possession, is that the kindest element you ever do for them is likewise the very final element you do. no remember if to get the comparable breed or no longer? it relatively is as much as you, yet you do no longer could make that selection yet. Wait till you're somewhat much less emotionally uncooked, to grant your self time to grieve so which you will think of needless to say in the previous making such an significant selection.. You sound like an excellent proprietor - the terrific tribute you ought to pay to Lily could be to be the terrific proprietor you may likely be on your next dogs - and that i'm confident you would be. Take care

I raised Boston Terriers for 10 years. i have had 14 total and loved every one of them like a child. The only thing I will tell you that you must know is if you relish it, don't leave it where a Boston can get hold of it or it will be in shreds. They love to chew. Nylo-bones all over the house helps greatly. They are great and smart little dogs.

Even though you aren't looking for a small dog i would totally recommend a Shiatsu or Lasso Apse. They have natural hair, not fur, so you wouldn't necessarily have an allergic reaction to them. My best friend breeds Lassa's and my in-laws have a Shiatsu. Let me tell you, they are hysterical little dogs who love attention and love to play. They come in different colors and personalities. They are NOT "outside" dogs. Definitely "inside" dogs, but hopefully everything works out! :-)

Sorry for your loss. Don't feel you have to replace your dog right away. Give yourself some time to grieve but since you asked try a Soft coat wheaten terrier. They don't shed but do require some grooming. They are medium-sized dogs (from 20-35 lbs)
My son and husband are allergic to dogs and have never had reactions to these. I make sure to groom them when my son and husband aren't present.

I have a yorkshire terrier, and really love how sweet he is. You have to be careful though, they are so small you don't want anyone to step on them. A cocker spaniel is also a nice, really smart dog. Depends on the size you like and can afford to buy, and care for.
