Nope, that only happens in fantasyland. I remember when I was a child my uncle parked on a residential street near a stadium and my aunt's house. Typically, for every game I guess they put up posterboard no parking signs although I had never seen one. These things looked like crap, were put up after he was already parked, and were about 8-9 feet high on an electric post. He contested the hell out of it and it was a no go. Just pay the ticket, it's a million times easier.

No. The only tickets I have contested were speeding tickets. That takes a whole process, but it might work with parking tickets too. I had to send the ticket back within the requested time frame certified mail, return receipt requested. Then if they did not send me a court date within the amount of days allotted (I think in the county I was in, the allotted time was 30 days upon receipt) it would be dismissed because they did not follow the correct procedure. I had to hire an attorney to help me with this, but that is what he told me, and it worked.
I don't know if a parking ticket would be worth all this work! I guess it could be worth a try though...

If the police officer who issued the ticket does not show up for court- for whatever reason- the ticket is automatically dismissed. If he/she does show up- it's pretty much a certain loss- but you might want to go anyways, just in case the officer cannot make it to court. If you go to contest it, there is always the chance the police officer won't make it. You're not out anything if he does, you have to pay court costs either way. :(

Hey I used to be a parking ticket judge, there are many ways to beat a parking ticket, it depends on what it was for and the circumstances. Check out this guide I wrote:

I hope this helps

Yes - but it was rather easy. I had never been in the place where the ticket was written. The make and model of the car was wrong, (Jeep 4x4 vs BMW) and the VIN number was different.
Didn't even have to go to court.
