my sister in law told me that her friends are sending their 4 children to private school, and in the back of my mind I'm thinking, yeah right. This woman couldn't even afford to pay for a serpentine belt 3 months ago (I work at the shop she got her car fixed at), how is she going to pay for 4 kids in private school. My sister in law tells me that her friends are doing so great and they are making 8,000 a month and they are going to retire. Here I am thinking my husband makes 4,500 a month, we have a car note and a mortgage. We save 1,500 or more, but we have two children. How could someone afford to pay for 4 kids private school? Do you think my sister in law is just trying to get on my nerves about this. When she is talking all I hear is " I'm better than you, our Quixtar business is doing great." Who knows about Quixtar, is it crap? My husband and I tried it, but we got scared since his brother works and talks like a machine.

There is no way that someone with no college education could make 8,000 a month for only working one yr for quixtar.

They said they were paying for it out of their pocket. Quixtar is a online store, and people go around selling the stuff online. They don't get many customers so from what I heard. Our family buys stuff from them to keep them afloat.

When she said it to me, I said how that's great, but I am only ranting about it. I'm not jealous, why would I be? I don't have 4 kids, I'm blessed enough with two. I just don't think people should bring their friends business to family members just to piss them off.

Is nobody reading this? I said my sister in law said that her friend's are making 8,000 a month. Why would they use a scholarship

Quixtar is the new pyramid scam that replaced that other one i cant remember the name of it it began with an A..... its the one where you buy and sell products at home like an everything catalog. I tried it and didn't like it. you don't need an education to run the business. Just be able to sell.

I went to private catholic school, so did my 4 siblings at the same time. My parents don't have the greatest education, but they owned an auto body shop business and a three family home. My mother was a housewife at the time with 5 children in all. My parents are serious savers. Affording to pay for private school is possible, anything is possible.
You should not be jealous of your friend! See what comes of her business, if you see that she is actually doing 8K a month then theres proof that you should give it another try. You should be happy with your family and that you are saving 1500+ a month and not struggling to pay your bills.
Your sister is probably trying to get on your nerves--- I have an older brother and sister in law who brags about how much money he has and what things he owns, which makes me feel like I am not doing enough or they are better than me. These kinds of people are not the people you want to be related to!! But I always say that they are just trying to look better and look good to other people instead of revealing their true selves.

Quixtar is just another company in a long line of at-home sales outfits. People are only as successful as their abilities and ambition and effort. Remember that people who already sell make more money by bringing you into the fold, so there is a motive to their "success stories."

No it is not possible to send 4 children to private school on $8K a month. But realize that there is a motive in all that talk. Tell your sister in law you are not interested, it does not suit your personality or lifestyle. Also tell her that you are happy for her friend's success but you've heard the story too many times.

First, there are cheaper private schools, especially if its a religious private school. Next, don't let her bother you so much. I'm sure you know that alot of people lie about their financial status, just to try and impress their friends. You know more about her true finances than the sister in law does. On the other hand, I know people that would live on peanut butter and jelly if it would mean their kids could go to private school. Some neighborhoods are just that bad. So just smile and change the subject. Apparently your sister in law is more interested in the bottom line than the friendship. I personally don't think I've ever bragged about how much a friend makes. Its just not something I care about.

They are lying and you know it. Not your sister-in-law, her friend is lying and your sister in law in buying it. You are too smart for this. They just want you to buy into the business. They want anyone without a brain to believe this crap and buy into the business so they can make money. Soon the private school will be getting ISF checks. No one is going to retire with three young children, I don't care if they are making Millions a month.

i've got been to the two private Christian faculties and public faculties. I knew purely as many people who smoked pot in my private college as I did in my public college. the only distinction became into that the babies on the non-public college had the money greater oftentimes than those on the typical public college. My sister went to the same private faculties I did and went to 3 distinctive public faculties. the babies on the typical public faculties have been 10 circumstances worse. They have been so undesirable, they had law enforcement officers there daily because of the fact fights might injury out continuously. I see greater of a connection between the section the place the college is than if that is private or public.

Some people feel a tremendous need to present themselves as financially superior and secure. If you really were doing all that well, would you feel the need to brag and tell everyone? Probably not...and regardless of how much money a person has, if they cannot manage it, they don't have money for coffee at the end of they pay period.

As for private school, the nature of private school and the payment structure would allow for those four kids to go entirely for free. If they are truly economically disadvantaged, the school may have arranged for them to go for free.

Why are you so worried about this? If they are sending their kids to private school, maybe they are getting help, or that is the reason they couldn't afford to get their car fixed. Many people live beyond their means & get themselves into trouble when an emergency comes up.
If she's lying to you then that's her problem and if not, then she sound like one of those people that are worried more about appearances than people. Just say "that's great for you" and go on worrying about you and your own family.

Quixtar is the online version of Amway. With a bit of motivation, you can sell and make some good money through the system, and dispite many court battles, the system has been deemed legal.

Some private schools offer scholarships to increase their diversity.

I kow nothing about the business you are talking about.. but i do know that if you have a limited income most private school will award your children a certain amount of money (scholarship) to attend... And even other times you can get it fully paid for through these scholarships, (most are baised on the test scores)
