I have just come across the term twice on yahoo answers and I have no idea what it means.

Any one that doesn't agree totally with Bush and his bizarre policies. People that dont agree with him are also accused of being liberals, terrorist sympathizers, America haters, communists, left wing, "cut and run" democrats, any number of insults if you you don't agree with the "Decider" .

There are groups of people that refer to themselves as 'Bush-Haters.' I suppose that Bush-basher is another way to say it.
The ones I have talked to have admitted some things that were, to me, condemning to their state of mind.
1) They say that even if they were wrong about him, they think that they would continue to defame him.
2) They seem to have to believe in every negative thing that they hear about him, no matter what common sense does.
3) They are gleeful about their stance on Bush, thinking nothing of treating someone unfairly.
So they are groups of people, taking the President for a instigator and causer of 911, and any other thing that is rumored, without any consideration to the fairness and appearance that reflects upon them as being unfair. They use hatred of him solely as the cause to write books, and give speeches to defame the current President, GW Bush. They do not care about truth, and it seems both trendy and evil, knowing that they would themselves not want such attention paid to them in the same way.

A Bush Basher is someone who does not like President George W. Bush because they don't believe in the decisions he is making for his country.

Not the same as a carpet muncher, I would assume.
But seriously, it's a term that right-wingers use to slander their opponents. Any time a left-winger brings up an argument they can't defend against, they resort to calling the left-winger a bush-basher (referring to President Bush), insinuating that they have a political agenda, and therefore, their point is null and void.
It's an amateur debate tactic.

A bush basher is someone who loves bush, and his country......
I don't mean like love him like a normal person.... but pass the limits..... they like to bash him basically....
They are obessed with him....
And no it's not a person who hates bush or anything!
What's a bible basher then?
Someone who hates the bible? Eeerrrr NO!
It's someone who likes the bible, and quotes everything from it, carrying it with them where ever they go, not leaving it behind.

Someone who speaks badly about our president.
Ex: Bush is such a bad president that he got worse grades in school than I did and he started this war for no reason and he sucks.
That is a Bush basher. Most of the time I agree with them.
