I am 21, my best friend is 28. When we first me about 6 months it was the best thing to happen in my life. We did everything together. One night at a party while she was sitting on my lap she leaned over all the sudden and started kissing me. We fooled around for a week or so, this was about 3 months ago. We thought about getting together, but she decided that the age difference was too big. We are still best friends, but when I go on dates all I can think of is her. I think she knows how I feel, but I truly do want to be with her... I'm stuck and I don't know what to do.

Well I'd give it some more time. If she sees and gets to know more of that which is you, she might bite. But if the age thing is an issue with her you must find a way around that, because there is no way around getting older faster. See if you can get her to go on a date with you, if that happens maybe you got a chance. From there maybe you can talk to her about maybe dating for a trial and seeing if it works or not and let her see if the age difference really matters that much when you two are together. If she likes you enough the age shouldn't matter. But if you try all that and the age thing still bothers her, you need to respect that and leave her be and accept the good friendship you both have. Good luck and I hope it works out.

Life lesson.Do or you will regret it the rest of your life. Go to this girl and let her know how you feel and tell her that if you don't try you will never know. 7 years is really not a long time at all and the key to a longstanding relationship (in my opinion) is to have a strong friendship as the foundation. It will never be the same and you cannot continue to think of her because if she feels you are not serious and goes out with someone else who is a jerk you will kick yourself like no tommorrow. Go now! Love waits for no man

i am bi and me and my best Friend tried the dating thing and we became so close to each other. We dated for a year and now we are broken up. We will never have that relationship ever again and it fells really weird just being best friends and not being girlfriends. Everything has changed i lost the main person i cared about but she is still there its just she fells nothing anymore and our relationship has been weird since. think about what would happen if y'all started dating and it didn't work out.
