Can anyone give me a tip or a way to get jalapeno off of one's skin? My husband was making guacamole last night and even though he washed his hands a million times after cutting up the jalapeno, his fingers still sting, particularly under his finger nails and he can't rub or touch his face without it stining? Any advice?

I asked this same question yesterday.

The responses I got were use olive oil or vegetable oil and rub it in, then wash your hands, then repeat until the burning stops. The oil is supposed to remove the pepper oil.

I also got use milk.
They also suggested using lemon juice.

Ive tried in the past and it didnt work, ketchup (because of the tomatoes), mustard, mayonaise, butter. Nothing worked.

I always end up getting a bowl full of ice water and just soaking my hands until bed time, then using a cold cloth over them while trying to fall asleep.

Keep some latex gloves on hand, and if you dont have those, use ziploc bags.

Did he wear rubber gloves when he was cutting them? Also, be careful not to touch your face or eyes after cutting jalapenos or any sort of hot pepper. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I just looked all over the net, found lots of "wear latex gloves" but real deep found this, "the milk protein casein washes away capsaicin". Good to know.

MILK, just pour in bowl and soak his hands. You can also soak a washrag and lay it on his face. It also works if the dish is too hot - will soothe your mouth. Next time, have gloves on hand for him to use.
