So far, I think most responders have sorta' missed the point.
Maybe I'm just being "American," but I have a serious problem with having to notify the government of my religious beliefs (for any reason).
I also have an issue with why his own family, who knew of his "re"conversion, should not be allowed to bury him as they see fit.

I love it. It shows that a Christian converted to Islam, realized what a horrible mistake he made, and then reverted back to his religion of his own free will.
I wonder how many Muslims will insist Allah gave him diabetes because he betrayed Islam.

No one is forcing him. Why do you have to sensationalize it so much. Simply because the man did not have papers stating his change of faith officials have to go by the information they have and give the man the burial as a Muslim he would have wanted. Once investigated and seen on further inspection he has some papers to state otherwise that he became a christian then they will bury him as he wants as a christian. Its no big deal the man simply did not inform the proper authorities of his country of his change of faith. Now they know they will treat him accordingly.

He may still have been Muslim.
Did you know that the Russian spy that got poisoned became Muslim and requested a Muslim Funeral.

Who cares. Its not your life, get over it. Thats all you people do is post something against Islam. You probly have better things to do with your time than worrying about somebody you dont even know. Funny that it is a christain based newspaper in english. Duh!!!! Most of it is probly just another load of crap from christians to spread lies about a religion they have no clue about. You would think people could figure that out by now.

it all has to do with his religion. if died as a muslim then he should b burried as one that's what islam says. but if he died as a christian , islam does not allow that he be burried as if he was a muslim.
away from any prejudice i think the court's decision was a right one because he was last known to be a muslims and the official papers prove that.
imagine if has been a muslim and burried as achristian! do you think he would want that???

Hmm! Well if the most recent records are showing Christianity as his faith then he should be buried as a christian. What's the big deal?

They should just bury him according to the last thing he'd decided that he was.
God bless his soul, but he WAS kind of wishy washy. Switching back and forth like that confuses people!! lol ;o)

It just shows that people will make mistakes. Hopefully they will allow this man's family to give him a proper funernal.

It does matter what they do, its just a mass of dead matter. The soul is long gone and past such trivial matters as 'religion'.
