Why do some people believe that just because the bible has been around a long old time, it must be the work of a divinity? In a pre-scientific world, the myths and histories provided comforting answers to the universal questions of the day. No-one can deny it was written by men: if the men then said they were inspired to write it by a supernatural force and they persuaded their clan members to believe them, then they must have realised that preaching had to be cushier than hunting and gathering or whatever they all had to do to survive. A bit like today really.

I'm not sure who has told you that you are going to Hell, but I would never do such a thing (then again, I do not follow any specific religion but rather study them all).
However, your reasoning is flawed. Why do you assume that those ascribing to a religion do so blindly? That is not what is taught in most religious texts--these "bibles" highlight the need for faith but only after finding questioning and searching for the Divine "in the wilderness."

You may wish to know there is a scripture that backs-up your attitude.
Please note Romans 10:17 says faith FOLLOWS!
Faith does not come first.
What does it come after?
It comes after the thing heard .....in other words, explanation first, study first, question first and faith will follow.

Blind faith is never the answer to anything. I came by my faith in God because I was able to ask questions and have them correctly answered (among other things).

I do not need to tell you that you are going to hell. It is not my place to condemn anyone.
There is good news, though! You don't even have to worry about going to hell, you will automatically have a place set aside for you in heaven by just accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior! Isn't that great?!
For the wages of sin is death;but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

I believe in God, if you don't then that's up to you, I hate it when people go round pushing their beliefs on people. I always say that you should always keep an open mind, always question what you are told, and then make up your own mind, there are two many people around who are brainwashed in to following what others want, and not what they want, so please don't think that all those who have faith in God want to preach to you.

You do have a great faith, in yourself. Frankly, if you look objectively at your own life, you might find that is not such a wise decision. But, that aside, there is nothing wrong with questioning. There is nothing wrong with seeking. It is the refusal to question your own beliefs that leaves you weak.

Let's get one thing straightened out- It is not us who are saying you are going to hell- well ok maybe some come right and out and condemn but they shouldn't. It is God who says this- that is why I ALWAYS back myself up with scripture regarding these things...they are God's words, not ours. I dont want to see anyone in hell, I would wish it upon no one- that is why I come here to share the gospel of Jesus Christ....to show others that without Him they are falling to their death....I care!!

We tell people about hell because it is very real. Read this: http://www.near-death.com/atheists.html
Click the links under NDEs of Atheists Index. It has true stories of people who did not believe in any god or afterlife until they died and came back to tell their story.
