I think the Media is doing most of the lying.
They show the few extremists to make it look like the mass of Christians are all thinking the same thing.
I believe the mass of Christians believe the acts committed buy gays is sinful and is as forgivable as looking upon a woman with lust in your heart.

Yeah, that's wrong.
But, I do understand why people make such a big deal out of homosexuality. It is the ONLY sin that's in the Bible that people try to insist is NOT a sin, and it's the ONLY sin that people are called "intolerant" over believing it's a sin.
I'm not one to say that homosexuals are all going to hell. I don't know how God will judge them, me, or anyone else....therefore, I have no right to judge them either.
I hate no one. Most of the more "fundamentalist" Christians I know don't, either. However, we are ALL frustrated over the fact that it's being shoved down our throats continually.
Tell me, when was the last time that there was a TV show or a movie (which was not Christian) that had a homosexual in it? Honestly, I can't remember.

Unfortunately its people like Jeebus who make moronic statements like he does without ANY foundational knowledge or understanding. They open their mouth and speak without ANY form of thought to it gnawing on a nice serving of fillet of sole. What is funny is people like Jeebus boldly make their claims as if it were fact.
You are a joke and your comments based on what a few people who claim to be Christian do in the name of God are just as laughable. Take your own advice and study history a little more closer and you will find that your statements aren't quite as accurate as you would like to think.
As to the question asked. The problem isn't the Fundamentalist Church, its how people outside the church choose to interpret what they see and hear. No Christians has or will claim homosexuality as an unforgivable sin, and most can tell you what the unforgivable sin is which is Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. But as you stated homosexuality is a sin and in the bible all sins are equal and carry they same punishment. The only people who are going to hell are unrepentant sinners, which includes homosexuals, adulterers, rapists, murders, liars, etc. The key here isn't the sin they've committed but the fact that they are unrepentant. So then why does homosexuality seem to be singled out? Wouldn't that be the next logical question? For the same reason you see abortion being singled out. Because these are sins that the secular world, which even includes some Christians, is trying to make acceptable. They want everyone to accept these sins as natural. As a Christian and someone who doesn't and can't condone sin they speak out on this. Because people in the secular world see this as intolerant behavior, which I will admit it is and should be, they automatically label it as hate. Unfortunately I do have to admit that there are some who actually do hate, and this is unfortunate, but it is also these people who should worry about unrepentant sin just as much as the people they hate. So you have two fuels feeding into the fire regarding who is giving Christians a bad name. People like Jeebus and the few Christians who actually make his statements bare some resemblance of truth.
By the way, loving my neighbor doesn't mean turning a blind eye to things that are wrong. Jesus tells His disciples not to judge one another, something the Bible condemns (Romans 14:10; James 4:11). In Luke 6:41,42 He speaks of seeing a speck in a brother’s eye. In John 7:24 He said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." If someone steals, lies, commits adultery or murder, etc., the Christian can make a (righteous) moral judgment and say that the actions were morally wrong, and that these sins will have eternal consequences. Chuck Colson said, "True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It’s knowing what should be tolerated—and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn’t."

There are some fanatics in fringe groups who probably hate gays, but Christians as a whole DO NOT HATE GAYS! Sorry to shout but I'm so tired of hearing this. Christians speak out against all sin. If you d'nt think its a sin, that's your right, but you must see this isn't the same as us hating you. True Christians must love his neighbor, gay and straight. The reason it gets more attn is because there is so much propaganda out there saying its perfectly legitimate. With us having the opposite viewpoint, can you really expect us to not object and state our convictions? Homosexuals think they were born that way therefore it is very offensive to them for someone to tell they need to change when they think its impossible and I guess see it as hatred, but we don't hate you anymore than a woman who's had an abortion. Its wrong though, no matter what society says.

No christian hates homosexuals or any other sinner. The church can not allow people to openly sin and approve of it. The Bible clearly condemns fornication (for one) and says that we should confront people in fornication and that if they don't want to repent then they should be invited to leave. Homosexuality is the same.
You are taking this personal because you are homosexual or know someone who is, and it is personal. If you or I were in fornication then we should also be treated the same. Ted Haggart the same. The homosexuals in general are trying to push the christians to treat this as if it were not a sin, and the bible teaches that it is, and that is why so much controversy over this issue. There would be the same controversy over any other sin that was presented as acceptable when it wasn't..

I see this question a lot- and first off let me say that not all fundamentalists see homosexuality as an unforgiveable sin- if someone does they obviously have not read the Bible. The only unforgiveable sin is rejecting Christ- homosexuality is as much of a sin as fornication. So we who are christians, should not be bashing anyone- but we should be speaking the truth in Love- not accepting their lifestyle but not bashing it either- Jesus does say to love your enemies- love your neighbor as yourself- and we should! Continue sharing His truth and pray and hope the Lord convicts their hearts- just as He would convict the heart of a thief or fornicator.

Because the Bible says to love your neighbor, doesn't mean you ignore the rest of the Bible. The Bible is very clear that homosexuality is wrong. (Romans 1:24-27)
In 1 Timothy 1:9-11, it is mentioned right along side fornicators, as it also is in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
Also see Leviticus 20:13.
A person may feel strongly attracted to others of the same sex, but by heeding the counsel of God's Word he can remain clean from homosexual practices. (Ephesians 4:17-24)

I do believe the media church has given Christians a bad name. Just like highly publicized Muslim terrorists and Christians who blow up abortion clinics, Christians who hate on the homosexual community represent only a fraction of Christians. And, though it is not my call to make, many times I find myself wondering if the people who act like that truly are Christians. As a Christian myself, I bear no hatred toward gays and lesbians. My mindset is not that all gays and lesbians are going to hell. Those who are going to hell are those who reject God's gift of salvation, which is His Son Jesus. Christians are to be "little Christs", and Christ did say to love your neighbor, that it is one of the greatest commandments. Often, Christians are so caught up in the things that they aren't supposed to do, that they forget what they are supposed to do, which, as Christ said, is to love your neighbor.
And let us not forget who Jesus dined with. In his day, he was ridiculed for socializing with prostitutes and tax collectors. I wonder who he'd be eating with today....

The main reason why Satan a/o the Devil, is and exist "Evil", as a force is because he locks, masculinity, and hate, Woman's and deceived man's (and woman's), as well than which to destroy Humanity, any and all the good things of creation just because he isn't the light of God. I agree that all sins are equal. We are also not perfect. It's not our place to judge. But that doesn't stop us from knowing right from wrong.
Hate the sin not the sinner has always been my stance. I think the only ones that aren't claiming Christians hate homosexuals are the Christians themselves.
