She is drinking some but not a whole lot and she has and ear infection please help! The doctors say she is not dehydrated and her kidneys are working fine. What else is there that they haven't done or tested for?

i had the same problem with my daughter too. however, i noticed that she sweats a lot. does your child sweat a lot? most kids do. i think that's where they excrete there fluids instead of peeing. make sure that she has plenty of water. give her cranberry juice - it helps to cleanse the bladder. if she doesn't like the juice give her the fresh or dried ones. or better yet put some sugar in her water, maybe she just doesn't like the bland taste. add some color on the fluids.

if you have a child's toilet seat, jazz it up a bit with Barbie stickers or something she likes. let her help you with the design.

did you just switched her from the usual diaper to regular undies? put her back on diaper and use pull ups instead. she may still be used to peeing on diapers that's why. i noticed this with my daughter.

i'm sure the ear infection has got nothing to do with it. you just have to watch out though on urinary tract infection which would have symptoms such as fever and the stomach is bloated.

i hope this helps. if you're not satisfied with the doctor's advise, seek second opinion.

take care!

My daughter had this same problem and they kept telling me she wasn't dehydrated. Well it finally got to the point that I had to bring her to the ER and she was admitted to the hospital for a week for severe dehydration due to the Rotavirus (not sure if that is spelled correctly). Let me tell you, keeping a 10 month old hooked up to an IV and in a crib 24 hours a day for 5 days is not pretty. Try Gatorade or Pedialyte too, that should help with keep her hydrated since your child isn't drinking much.

This is something i SAY on MYSTERY DIGNOSIS on health Tv.

Do this,,, if the Doc says shes not Dehydrated, then give her a Juice that she LOVES so much and loves to drink. My little will drink gallons of Strawberry juice if i allow her. What you want her to do is drink at least 16-20 oz of liquids at this age theres no way she will be able to hold this type of liquids cause the full bladder will cause her bladder to spill on its own....after 30-45 mins. if she has not went to emoty her bladder THERES A PROBLEM...and dont take her back to the sam DOC please dont...There may be Problems with the structure or function of her urinary tract, such as vesicoureteral reflux, an obstruction in the urinary tract, or another abnormality.

My 19 month old pee like every 4 hrs at least

Get her as much liquid as possible and a better doctor! Little one's dehydrate pretty quickly. Give her a spoon full of water about every 10 or 15 mins that should help some. If she doesn't really soon I'd take her to the ER!

Get her fabric training pants (walmart has a lot less severe priced Gerber sort ones which will paintings nicely). once you're at abode positioned her in no longer some thing yet training pants and a blouse. Take her to sit down down on the potty about each and every 30 min or at the same time as she exhibits signs and warning signs of needing to bypass. in common words use diapers for slumbering and going out. you may save taking her to the bathroom frequently once you're out yet having a diaper on will dodge any messy injuries. you should use a manage/sticker reward to save her fascinated. in case you take advantage of stickers you may enable her stick them to the potty to make it extra relaxing. One for a pee, 2 for a poop. by no skill rigidity her to sit down down on the potty if she doesn't opt to, it should not be a strive against. save some books or small toys to play with close to the potty. good luck! My particularly a lot 16 month previous will sit down on the potty frequently (he loves it) yet received't pee in it yet. Hoping he will be waiting quickly :)

Take her to the doctor. If this doctor won't run test find a new doctor get a second or third view. That is not good. Your pediatrition should have some concern about this.

Did the doctor do a urinalysis on her?? If she has an ear infection, it could hurt her ears to swallow. Hopefully she is on antibiotics for her ear but if she is continuing not to drink and she is not urinating, I would suggest another trip to the doctor.

see if you can get her to drink tea. my little girl did that and the doctors said she was fine but i was a fraid of her kidneys shutting down so i made sweet tea and just gave her that and water to drink. the tea will go right threw little kids and make them have to pee.

you need to get her to drink as much as possible, give her popsicles, as they can help her keep hydrated. If she doesn't pee by morning, I would take her to the doctors, and have them check to make sure she doesn't have a urinary tract infection. Good luck and take care.
