I am very interested in learning about other religions. I was raised a Christian and then I studied Islam and became Muslim 6 years ago. But I am still researching both relgions and I would also like to know what the Jews believe. I have a general idea but would like to know more. I find it interesting that someone can be born into a religion because of their parents or what they are exposed to and close their eyes to the rest of the world and what they believe. I mean its not like people of other religions are complete idiots. Each religion has their own scholars and they all have good ideas and points. It comes down to faith in the end because I dont see that any of them can be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. You just have to look at it and have faith in it. If you dont allow yourself to look at other religions because you believe yours is the only one then how can you criticize or judge people of other faiths? You should not since you dont know what they believe and what their book says or why and how their religion came about. I think most people are not open minded. They dont want to look at other religions because they either dont think its necessary (they will quote their verses) or they are afraid of what they might find. Islam encourages reading and learning and does not restrict you from researching any other religion or subject. So I do have a thirst for knowledge in this area and many others.

I began my life by hating God. He took my father when I was five and my baby brother was born "dead" the night that my mother was to give birth. Therefore, I have never been an atheist. I knew there was a God. I could not hate a person for taking these loved ones from me. I was left with a loving mother that was an alcoholic and a victim of domestic violence. The point is I searched and searched for answers. In my culture we honor the Creator in a renewing ceremony. The last dance is a "Happy Dance". I have always prayed and wished for happiness. Most children I knew at nine wished for a pony. I wished for happiness. I did not start out as a Christian. I did investigate other religions, but I discovered that religion was not for me. I chose a relationship with Jesus Christ. I do not know why people assume that Christians have not had lives before their Christianity. I love the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. My Lord answers my prayers and works in my life daily. I have a relationship with the Living God. Peace out.

Learning, yes.. accepting it, no..
The more I learned about other religions, made me thankfull that I'm a Christian, my salvation is a guaranty, and I don't have to earn my way to heaven.
My sin is paid by Jesus on the cross.
John 3:16 (New King James Version)
New King James Version (NKJV)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
When Jesus said , "it's finish" (john 19:30), means what it means, I don't need to earn my way to heaven.
Muhammad was not sure if he's going to heaven
The Prophet said, "By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me."
Hadith vol. 5, no. 266
Hinduism
There's no clear concept of salvation. Moksha (freedom from infinite being and self-hood and final self realisations of the truth) is the goal existance. Hindus hope to get off the cycle of reincarnation. They believe the illusion of personal existance will end and they will become one with impersonal god.
Budha
Their future hope is Nirvana. The reincarnation is an endless cycle of continous suffering, and the goal of life is to break out of this cycle by finally extinguishing the flame of life and entering a permanent state of pure non-existance (nirvana)

I studied other religions for 30 years and finally became a Christian. I have been a Christian since 1978 and I am not a member of any denomination. Years of study have proven to me that religion and Christianity are two different things. It has also proven to me that I can trust Father God and Jesus and Holy Spirit with my life and not human beings.

I like the people whose open minded very much ;). such as, in my University there is an teacher whose from foreign country. I liked her a lot beside that she has another religion (Christian) because when you see her personality and how she behaves respectful with us as students. I like her a lot because I feel that she knows as and that because she live in our country. I'm a Muslim and I know a little about Christians.

I'm christian and i'm not interest in learning about another religions, because i understand for "learning" to know very well about the things.
I'm interest in keeping informed about another uses and religions all over the world...Why not?
We would need to do that and to respect all the religions and cultures if we want to live in peace

Definitely! I have taken the opportunity to learn about numerous other religions, both through college classes and in my individual study. It enables you to understand people and their cultures. I do think you should be careful about where you get your information though and make sure it's genuine to the religion.

I study different religions. I have never been a basher or tried to stuff my religion down others throats. It is in the bible that God wants us to question and seek answers, to get to know Him.There is no way for any of us to know that our way IS the way until we meet God. But I will tell you this, He ain't gonna like all the fighting we do over it.

Very much so. I love learning about other religions. It helps me understand people better if I understand their beliefs. That doesn't mean I'm going to convert, though.
